If Danault is traded that would leave a top 9 C spot open for Domi, no?
- Takemedrunkimhome

Then who do you put up against top lines?

Not Domi. Not Suzuki (if you want Drouin playing on his line). That leaves KK (who is better suited to offensive role) or Evans (perhaps too much a rookie) - neither of which CJ would trust to do that, regardless.

Also, none of those guys have been that great at face offs - at least with Danault out there you have a decent chance, when needing to win one.

Danault (regardless of where he is in the lineup) has more value than Domi (regardless of where he is in the line up).

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Contracts should also be part of the calculation. All else being equal I'd prefer to keep Danault

I’d prefer Danault For Winnipeg, but honestly I’d take either one. Hope there’s a deal with Winnipeg.

We would want either Connor or Ehlers , this question is like asking Jets fan whether they want to keep Connor or Ehlers

I do think Sabres would be interested in Danault. Would a hockey trade of Marcus Johansson and a 2nd RD pick in 21 make sense. Both players will be UFA next year.

From a Sabres perspective, I would offer Montour and next year's 2nd for Domi. Tage Thompson and Samuelsson also on the table. If the Habs were looking for big/tough prospect wingers/centers, Brett Murray or Matej Pekar as well. Im assuming Risto and Miller would not be attractive as pieces

for Reinhart straight up or gtfo, anf that is not even my #1 option.
I'd prefer to package Domi to WPG.

I was all about this as recently as a month ago. But seeing Domi's value tank in the playoffs has made me think twice.

I understand the desire to package domi with more to get something better

meh. players don't lose value on a 10 game stretch in the middle of summer.
GMs look at the past year, the past 2 years.

Yeah, I hear ya. I've liked Domi since his AZ days, and like I said, I was all about a Domi/Reinhart deal. But just seeing how far he's fallen on his second team, I dont think I'd do it now.

He's super fun to watch though. If I were a Habs fan I might want to hold onto him and see if his value goes back up

nothing never is.
except Raymond. everyone loves Raymond.
as for Danault-Domi, I'd bet my house all 31 GMs would take the former over the latter.

probably what will happen if MB doesn't find his price. it's not like they absolutely have to move him.

Actually it’s not, the Jets should just say no and move on if that’s the ask.

you're talking about Danault right?
you expect to get a legit #2C in his prime for a 3rd line winger?

just watch, GMs I am sure will offer a 1st and a top prospect for Matt Martin once the playoffs are over.

Obviously, that was trading for the negotiating rights. If he was under contract, would cost a lot more.

The Habs will say no for sure if neither of those guys are coming the other way
