No they wouldn't no benefit to them but you hold on to Sam I am.

JV + for Risto though that's more interesting for Canucks.

- NuckUp

It’s not really thiugh cause we need defence not scoring from the back end. Basically myers 2.0. 10 mil in myers types is a bit much imo. If we could offload myers and get risto this would be good.

Give our scraps for a Calder winning #1 overall pick?

It would probably be Boeser, JV and a 1st round pick just to get a conversation.

- SRam19

I'm looking at their motivation of moving such a big asset is money to spread around filing lots of holes. Boeser is too high of a cost for them in that scenario. It's not about value for value. I remember the Canucks selling a high valued D man to get a bunch of guys that filled holes in Ronning and the gang from the Blues.

Anyway, doubt it would happen. Just an exercise on what the motivation for benefit would be on both sides.

He’s definitely regressed since the concussions. Not sure he’s worth the big money, numbers suggest not. Looked better under quinneville though

Benning on @TSN1040: While he wants to get Markstrom resigned, adds: “Jacob has earned that right if he needs to test the market if he’s not happy with where we end up...”
Re Demko: He’s capable of being a number one goalie. Refers to him as “our goalie of the future” #Canuck

from previous blogs apparently virtanen is worth a late first but the calder winner and first overall from the same draft is worth plugs. ur right that your proposal at least gets a return phone call lol

Mmm scraps.

Honestly, would hate to give up Boeser, but for a stud #1 RHD, that wouldn't be the worst trade.

If the Panthers were looking for a value for value trade then they would trade for Mathews.

If we resign Toffoli, I would be ok with Boeser + OJ/Rathbone(their choice) + for Ekblad. As good as Boeser can/will be, a #1 RHD is higher on the needs. Problem is I doubt Flordia would trade Ekblad for the same reason we would trade for him. Unless he decides he wants out that is.

Read the Florida blogger's blog, and he says they're sort of stuck with no direction. Not near competing, but too good to draft high. He wants them to tear it down. I think it'd be hard for them to do a complete tear down with some players just entering their prime after having spent so much to bring people in last summer.

I don't see them moving Eklad, especially for players around his age, but it's nice to dream.

Benning on Eriksson,” With Bo & Pearson, he was good with those guys because he’s good defensively & lets those guys go on the offensive end. I know he’s making too much money to just be a good defensive player. So we’ll continue to talk internally

i was wondering the same. a new gm coming in and some big ufas but i think ekblad is still young enough to keep for a retool. they could really turn it around quickly if they wanted to move huberdeau

Me either, other than overpaying bobs they have a pretty great team and a top-end coach. Could see them making some noise next year, some really nice prospects too.

If they send Loui to Utica, but the AHL doesn't have a season, what happens?

Marky's agent sure is trying to squeeze the situation. Sounds like JB set a budget to sign all 3 UFA's and won't go over it to lock up one.

wouldnt say rebuild but they are at a crossroads and could retool with assets at their highest and go for playoffs 2-3 years down the road. in a flat cap world huberdeau could fetch a ton

2 of their top four will be 35 next year and both hoffman and dadnov are ufas. they obviously have cap space to resign guys but tallon did a poop job building their roster

If the NHL has a season so will the AHL where many teams are owned by the same NHL club. No border to cross no bubble costs needed. Keep it regional based. They have a plan of action though probably it needs funding. With no gate revenue and US NHL TV contracts up for renewal it could include money for AHL games to make it operational.

Just goes to show you that building a championship team is such a crapshoot. He and their scouting staff did such a great job in Chicago, but ten years in Florida and he just wasn’t able to catch lightning in a bottle like they did in Chicago. Even with some really high picks.

Maybe futures then

Woo, 2021 1st, Rathbone and something else we need to send. Gives them 2 young Solid defensive prospects and a pick to work with. Rathbone is NHL ready and Woo is set to play in the AHL.

They'll play south like the Jays. Lots of empty college buildings etc to choose from.
