I think he is lol He's been a Top 6 D for most part of his carreer and can move the puck well and shoot. Very good skater.

None of those indicate he’s a smart player.

Keeping MAF would have been more cap money so maybe there’s no room to sign JJ.

Honestly that’s enough reason alone to go back and keep MAF.

RW hates stuff like this

If you’ve watched any of the Vegas games, hard to see how the Pens couldn’t make use of Reaves

Ryan Lochte. Very smart, heady guy. I know this because he’s a great swimmer.

I think it was the right move to do at the time as well...hopefully we keep Jarry this time though.

Give me a list of players you'd protect from next expansion.

I'd probably go the 7F, 3D and 1G route. Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel, Zucker, Rust, Kapanen, McCann (the 7th option is hard since we have Blueger, Tanev, exposed). On D Letang, Dumoulin and I don't know if Marino and Pettersson can be exposed.

I pretty much agree on your forward selections through Kapanen, but that last spot will depend on who's here. McCann may be gone. If Hornqvist is not dealt to the Kraken ala Fleury, then he will have to be used in that last spot because of his clause.

I'd definitely be considering Blueger because he's a very attractive piece to an expansion team. I'd hate to risk losing Tanev, but I think his contract would scare them off, so I'd leave him exposed.

On defense you obviously keep Dumo, Letang and Pettersson. Marino will be exempt.

My head just exploded thinking about this alternate reality....

So a 1st, 2nd and no JJ... wow.

The Oilers and Penguins have talked about Matt Murray, I'm told, but as far as I can tell, asking price too rich for Edmonton at this point (first-round pick?). I think Edmonton will be patient in its goalie search. And the Oil hasn't ruled out bringing back Mike Smith, either

If JR is looking for a 1st then he's out of his mind.

1) Unless Hörnqvist agrees to waive his NTC I think..
2)Blueger is a perfect 4th line C, cheap and gets the job done.
3) Good to know Marino is exempt.

Horn's clause becomes modified after the coming season, but unless I'm wrong, any player with any kind of trade clause has to be protected automatically. At that point he would still have to waive if the Pens deal him to Seattle.
