What a pass by McDonough. Man is he good. The type of player that if you have him you don't trade him especially for an overpaid, under performing, small and declining centre. |

Agree, McDonough and Sergachev, imagine how good our blue line would have been. I would argue if we didnt trade Subban he would have got better as a Hab

I think Subban is more interested in his love life than hockey at this point, who knows if that would have been the case had he stayed in Montreal

I think PK would have been better off staying in Mtl strict management system...he got so much freedom to grow his brand in nashville that he lost focus unfortunately |

Could be worst, he could be Réjean Houle and Mario Tremblay and be blamed for pushing Mtl in the dark ages lol |

didn't he have lots of freedom in MTL as well, but it just hadn't gotten to that point yet? |

I think he prolly won't have met Lindsay Vonn had he played in MTL , which would make him focus on hockey more

I think 2 things happened when he went to Nashville:
1) He felt he had to live up to what Weber meant to the franchise, and that lead to him to focus on trying to be being popular, not necessarily a better player.
2) Nashville (the team) tried put a lot of marketing money behind PK, and the people who were marketing him likely helped him focus more on brand than on hockey.
I am not sure PK would have ever been this big about "brand" if he stayed in MTL, that being said, he was focused on his legacy too much for someone at the start of his career. |

So on the surface Habs won the trade, but had they kept him, they may have been better, so technically we may have lost out

That is the things about trades, you never know.
I liked PK a lot on MTL. I get the value of Weber, but to me, PK was a lot more fun and entertaining.
The debate will go on forever. |

So the really clear cut win so far from MB is the Pacioretty trade
