Varlamov left for the locker room a few seconds before the horn even sounded.

Ugh, what a bad game. Hopefully the Islanders leaned something. and will respond.

so, the Flyers would've been four steps behind Tampa had they somehow managed to win game seven. yay.

Perhaps. Everything went in for TB too which didn't help.

I think even before the game got out of hand, we haven't been skating away from the puck. As a result Tampa trailers are constantly uncovered. The backpressure has to improve.
I don't know if you even talk about this game other than to ceremoniously throw the game tape in the can and move on

I would make the entire team watch the game on loop for eight hours besides Nelson if I were trotz.

That might be true but the turnovers and mistakes together with penalties on D specifically were enough

This Isles team always seems to bounce back. Travel to Edmonton seemed to out cement in their legs. Trotz will get em going. Goalie situation better work out quick though

Someone throw a hit or look like you care

100% I didn’t like that we didn’t hit Kuch Hedman and McD and Point. Game was over we should have unloaded on them.

Gotta give Tampa kudos they were rested, ready and totally brought it to the Islanders.

1 game list out of 4. Regroup and let’s go.

Nelson had a lot of opportunities, but it would be nice if he could have cashed in on one, maybe two.
He seemed to be the only one creating anything.

The Isles have been playing a much slower team over the last two series. This was a perfect storm, coming off a seven game series, travel and then speed adjustment.

I agree. Team was shot. Tampa was rested and waiting. I guess we shall see how they respond. As far as the goalies go I don’t think there’s really a debate. You go with Greiss and never look back Varlamov is a (frank)ing disaster.

Seems like smaller shifty forwards like kuch and point are a recepie for disaster for isles D

Yep. Perhaps when Trotz gets the lineup advantage, Leddy can get sent out for that matchup rather than Pulock
