Not my car logic, that’s Vantel’s logic.

JV for a 2nd round pick is a bad trade IMO. You got to get back some value out of a 6th overall, at 24 years of age, with 279 games played already.

He still has loads of potential. 2nd round pick is selling cheap. JB has to start finding deals instead of paying top dollar every time. Is it too much to ask that he “wins” a few trades once in a while?

It's JV and LE. Addition by subtraction. Everyone has soured on JV, he's not going to grow into that potential here. It's not like he's knocking on the door of using it either – after 280 games you'd think he'd have figured it out. He hasn't. Use the room both those guys being gone creates to make the roster better.

He's won a few, more recently than not as well.

Which lot do you work at?

I'm that guy calling you about the car you bought 6 months ago to see if you're still happy with it and if you'd be interested in the 2021 model

If he had loads of potential do you not think they would sign a young 24 year old player?

Bring it on.

I'm one of the few probably that would ok with either Marky or Demko from this point. however the club has 5 years invested in Marky and he has become 'basically' top 10 in the league. Highly doubt JB lets Marky walk.

I think it is essential for Marky to sign here otherwise we may be subjected to more Eddie Lack tweets.

Of course they would and if they didn’t have glaring holes in other parts of the roster JV would probably be safe. But the reality is he has trade value because of potential, youth, and skill. He can score in the NHL, has size, and great speed. That’s worth something and I think people here are underselling that just to get rid of LE.

Someone mentioned that an arbitrator will probably give JV $3M per. So he must be doing something right at the NHL level to warrant that amount.

LE should be forced to stay on the Canucks to remind JB that poor FA signings have consequences. That was an unforced error so don’t try to resolve it by lessening the value of a young tradable asset.

He is a flake. Don't mix up the two. They are not moving him because they want cap space , they are letting him go because they are not happy with his services. What part of" Jake was a disappointment " is hard to understand?

You guys can say whatever you want but they are moving him because he is not filling the job properly. I don't see them trying to move Petey . He would get a bucket in return.

He also had 10 goals, and lead the league in Playoff goals. I'd rather a guy with 10 goals and 2 assists than a guy with 2 goals and 15 assists, 8 of them being secondary. Bo was a beast for us and still improving.

My opinion still stands, he had three empty netters and he’s not irreplaceable, but I agree he had some good games in the post season.

Not irreplaceable, just replacing him would be a lateral move, at best. He's got some years to grow

Hi,

New blog is up, as I start dissecting the season-ending presser with some thoughts on goalies and forwards.

Unless you are Mackinnon or McDavid, you are replaceable in this league. The thing is that he is not easy to replace, and near impossible to find someone younger. If you replace Bo, it is not to get assets, you are spending assets. The only players I would ever trade Bo for are guys like Draisatl, Barkov, Scheifle, Dubois, etc.
