I'll say it again.....it would be a mistake to choose Danault over Domi.

That is all..

if KK and Suzuki are both busts I think the habs will be needing more than Danault... lol

And that's my point exactly

I doubt they will be complete busts, they show promise...but they are still 21 and 20 years old. If things go sour this season, you trade Danault at the deadline when GMs are in buying mode. I doubt he'd bring back more return right now anyway.

And what if the Habs are in playoff position at the deadline? How do you explain trading Danault at that time?

They wouldn't be trading him in that situation.

Listen, Kotkaniemi and Suzuki doing good during those playoffs is a positive, but can they sustain that during a whole season + playoffs?

I'm less worried about Suzuki, but Kotkaniemi is another story. I think some people are getting carried away with such a short sample.

And if they can't carry the team through a season, will Danault make the difference?

And if he's still on the roster after the deadline and not really liking his role... lose him for nothing and call it a day?

Looking at both of them play during the playoffs, and how they sustained the same level during 10 games is filling me with hope.

Both of them looked pretty damn great in their respective styles.

Can't wait to see more!

If the kids are lights out, there isn't a role that Danault will want on the team

If the kids are sh!t, having Danault would be the equivalent of hanging up an air freshener after totaling your car

that depends on how he perceives a potential third-line role, it'll still be a very important one to the team...

For sure... do you think he will give the Habs a definitive answer on what he intends to do before the deadline next season?

I dunno, but I hope it does get resolved quickly, and that they manage to keep him in a role he'll be satisfied with... he might not be an offensive force but the habs definitely need a guy like Danault
