lol Eichel is one of the best in the nhl and you turn that down. Homerism at it’s best

It would be a tougher decision for me to give up Coots, than Giroux. I didn't say I wouldn't do it. Leant how to interpret, and while you're at it, read.

I agree. This team needs an infusion of speed, they just cannot keep up with the pace of play. You can say that Giroux, Voracek, JVR, and Gostisbehere contracts are pretty bad right now. I just don't see how they are going to add to this team being up against the cap.

Thompson, Grant, Braun are all gone. I wouldn't mind signing Pitlick to a reasonable deal. I think he's a useful player in the bottom 6. They have about 10.5 million in cap space to sign NAK, Hagg, Myers and a backup goalie. Unless they are going to somehow unload JVR, or Ghost there isn't cap space to add anyone in FA.

- PLindbergh31

They need to take a cold hard realistic look at where their situation is, what their compete window is, and act accordingly. Giroux and Voracek should have been traded 2-3 years ago. Name me one reason why we kept those guys here with their contracts when we were clearly so far away from real contention. Now they are close to un-tradeable. We would have to eat salary.

My personal opinion is that 2 of Giroux/Voracek/JVR should be unloaded. For anything, just to rid salary. Lets see where we stand next year. Too many uncertainties. Lets see how TK progresses, Myers, Sanheim, Farabee, Patrick, Lindblom even Hart.

Its hard to complement a core when you are not sure what that core really is or needs.

I make 2 lists of everyone in our system.

Tell Buf to pick 2 from each. One is roster players, the other picks/prospects.

I'm not married to Eichel either. I'd take Leine instead.

Laine will ask for 10m probably.

And that is the cost of 22year old all star scoring wingers.

I'd be miserable in WPG too probably. Sucks for the city/team, but it is what it is.

That's why it's negotiating. You just said we have no A list offensive prospects. What's your solution?

Once again, should Eichel actually want out, that changes the price.

- DrMidnite

Your the buffalo gm and have one of the best players in the league on your team.
Would you not expect a haul? Putting a trade package for Eichel is hard as imo you have to gut the team of the young guys like Farabee Samhain Myers frost or hart along with an established player. Depending on the cost yes I look at it absolutely

Frost is only A guy.

My solution is I do my best to try to move jvr jake and ghost. While the returns may not be what people want I clear the salary out. Though you may have to take some salary back as teams are just in a crunch

I trade Hagg as he isn’t worth the raise he will get.
I sel high on Laughton unless you want to resign him for 4 million or so.

I take the captaincy away from clode.

I look into trading couturier.

Because why......what no one here, or the media or the organization will never talk about.....Hextall was an overrated talent evaluator and terrible GM.

Just go on Wikipedia and look up 2014-2018 NHL Draft...it lists every pick, from every round.....the mistakes made by Hextall are glaring

People.

We lost to a better team. The same team that dismantled the Capitals AND the Panthers.

The Islanders are a team built to win now. They gave up a lot to get final pieces for this run and the pieces are all coming together at the right time.

The Flyers have some older veterans in Giroux and Voracek but for the most part they are a very young team. Myers, Sanheim, Provorov, Farabee, NAK, Hagg, Lindblom, Hart, all getting their first real taste of a long NHL post season and having to do it in a stupid bubble with no fans.

Its the weirdest environment imaginable for this.

All this rending of cloth and gnashing of teeth is cute and typical. But we gotta (frank)ing relax. This team is ahead of where we thought they would be when this all started at the beginning of the season. They were right at the top of the division and went 7 games in the second round.

Everyone need to cool their jets. Next season we will have a healthy Lindblom and Patrick replacing guys like Thompson and Grant.

We will have another quality young guy coming in to replace Braun.

We already have one of the best goalies in the game.

We have a solid top 4 who just gained valuable experience.

We have Morgan Frost knocking on the door and Joel Farabee a year older and experienced.

This talk of trading Giroux with one year left on his deal is asinine.

We are in good position with the flat cap because we have low priced improvements coming back.

Just relax, be thankful we had hockey at all, a take solace that this team had the gumption to take a better and more experienced squad to seven games.

They just ran out of gas.

That experience will help everyone in the long run.

Its such a silly argument to complain about players taken in every round but the first as somehow being a glaring mistake when every other team passed on the same players once, twice, three times.

Its the argument a ten year old would make.

Agree. Don’t know who would be interested in jvr. Ghost can be moved the return will not be what people would want. Jake would have some interest I’m sure. But salary would make it tougher. G I can’t see them trading. But he has lost a step.

Will have a couple factors. But with the 10 plus you said would be open between Myers Haag NAK and maybe pitlick that prob about 6-7 mil. There may be a couple of players out there with good speed for a year or two deal. Grabner hagelin sheary.

Oh and to me it won’t happen. Yet anyway. If anything only one may not be with us anymore.

Good relative to average value at that positiob, but honestly, no game changers on F or D.

I would say myers and Zamula should still count even tho they went undrafted, the Flyers still picked them up. Myers looks like a stud and Zamula is looking like he will follow in myers footsteps
