Can't wait until we pick in the late 3rd round!

Not unless we trade Demko and Boeser to Ottawa for Josh Nooris and their 5th overall pick.

Welp.
Missed the game. Saw the highlights.
Sounds like we ran out of gas.

The playoffs showed that this team has another gear. Which is good to see.
Demko has been a revelation obviously
Hughes abs Pettersson can handle the playoff intensity as well, which are all positives.

Great year overall.

Now to the off-season.

UFA - Markstrom, Toffoli, Tanev, Leivo

RFA - Stecher, Virtanen, Motte, MacEwen

Resign Tanev, Marky, Toffoli
Leivo is gone.

Stetcher and Motte.

Sad to say it’s time to move on from JV.

It was just a dig on JB, I think he'll be shopping for picks leading up to the draft.

He will be on LTIR for the rest of his career, no point in him risking his life when he has been gifted 3-4 million a year as a retirement package.

I feel like we’ve had this convo for the past several years.
Keeps coming back.

Anyone know if there's truth to the rumour that Hughes was getting treatment 3 times a day for leg/ankle injuries?

I heard that from Tej Dhaliwal so a blogger said it but don't know if it is true

I think re-signing Leivo is a great option for the third line. He'll be cheaper coming off an injury, he's a good smart player who can move up and down the lineup, and isn't a super small guy to be pushed around.

I think I’d rather use him as a sweetener.
package JV with an anchor to free up some cap space.

Sure.
I just imagine he’ll get a better offer elsewhere, salary wise.

Hughes definitely alluded to an injury earlier this series. Later said he was feeling better (and it showed)

Maybe – hard to gauge until free agency hits and we see what kind of contracts are getting passed out. Coming off an injury might be harder for him. Hopefully he likes the team and wants to stick it out here.

I would rather have the first pick .

I am not pointing this at you or anyone in particular but I will leave the Cap crap to the guys running the team. They have over 17 mil in current space and 3.5 in LTIR with Ferland

He was decent in year one, but he definitely lost a step this season. Good locker room guy and for faceoffs/PK, but he's useless at 5v5 since he can't forecheck effectively anymore.

I want Marky, Tanev and Toffoli back.
I’d also like to lose some dead weight to free up a spot for a younger faster rookie forward.
Need cap space and roster space for that.

I don't know if you read some of the earlier posts from before but there are some here that don't want to bring back Toffoli. I want him back but won't be upset if they decide to go with Hoglander on the third line and Keep Jake.

There are many many ways this can go but whatever way they do decide they will make it fit.

Sure.
IMO. Our top 6 struggled without Toffoli.
Beyond JV, no one came close to that top 6 role.
And JV himself couldn’t keep that spot for long.
I’d rather resign TT vs taking a flyer on another ufa.
Move JV.

This dude needs to enjoy life away from hockey. Trade for Anderson if you want a Ferland replacement.
- Nucker101

Josh Anderson is not the deterrent you need for a guy like Reaves, if you want a guy who'll drop the gloves, grapple a little and fall, have at him. He does bring hockey skill though and is an RFA.
