If he trades with the Sabres it's definitely for Risto. We know it deep down. He needs another RD and he won't trust Rudy who was much better than Schultz this year.

I mean, this guy has to be pointing out JJs absolutely atrocious analytics.. He has to be. He has to give input on someone like Risto, doesn't he? If Ventura is as good at what he does as has been proclaimed then there's now way he doesn't know JJ is an absolute dumpster fire. No way.

Avs just lost their series based on questionable goaltending. If I’m JR I’m definitely waiting to see what they do regarding their goalie situation.

There are at least rumors linking our goaltending to the Avs. Haven't read anything substantive about a return.

Pilut's next deal would be at around $1M or less, while Okposo's cap hit is $6M per.

The trio of Jack Johnson, Matt Murray, and Bjugstad have a combined cap hit of $11.1M.

The Penguins would be 'saving' $4.1M, but if they have no intention of extending Murray anyway, the net difference in savings is $.35M, which is almost nothing.

And the next year when Bjugstad's deal is up, we'd actually be losing money since Okposo makes alot more than JJ.

I do want JJ gone enough to think about it, but we probably don't want to add that much long term salary. There might be a trash for trash deal that can be worked out though.

You sign Markstrom and you lose Demko in the expansion draft (Because Markstrom would obviously get a no move clause for Seattle), or you have to trade Demko for less than he's probably worth

I could see Colorado make a very bold attempt to get Murray. With the talent they have, the pressure is on to win it all. It would make sense to target a guy like Murray who has already been to the Cup and won it.

I've decided the Penguins' season will come down to their 3rd line. If the team can build a scoring threat 3rd line that contributes, I think this team will be solid. So if I'm the Penguins, I'm all in finding the right fit for a 3C. I really like Kadri, shame how Colorado likes him and how there isnt a deal there to get him.
