If he can be had for really cheap, then ok, but he's a huge injury risk and I'd want a solid back-up plan. He damaged cartilage in his knee and that doesn't heal - it can only get worse.
- Hockey66

With that I would rather just keep McCann 3c than go after Haula. I hope there's some trade out there where we can get a good 3c.

Matt Murray and Jack Johnson for Kris Russell and Pulu?

Russell sucks but he only has 1 year and he's better than JJ

- TheGame316

Yea I mean anyone is better than JJ lol.

Not a bad idea, but since we acquired Kap, I don't see a spot for Pulj unless we are getting rid of Horny (or Tanev), and he doesn't replace what Horny does. Also, it would cost more to not play or buyout Russell than it would JJ, at least for the first year (I think this is accurate). I don't think either should play so it doesn't matter who is better than who.

Relating back to the discussion of using one of our few remaining assets to acquire a good defenseman, I think it makes more sense to focus on 3C unless something really good comes along. The smart thing to do with JJ, IMO, is to either bury or buy him out instead of using assets to get rid of him. The cost to do either is minimal.

- Hockey66

It blows my mind we still need a 3C. There was a time when I was like holy poop we have Sid, Geno Bjugstad, McCann, Blueger.

Such a shame Bjug can't stay healthy. He doesn't really match our identify but I think he's a perfectly fine 3C to be honest.

Well I guess because I clicked on this site's article once Facebook now thinks I want Oilers articles in my newsfeed... Anyway, this Oilers article is about available 3C's, which are a hot topic around here.

Rossi is reporting that Letang believes he will not retire as a Penguin although he wants to. He believes he will be moved this off-season or next. He goes on to report that while JR isn't actively shopping him, he has put out feelers to gauge interest and value.

Soderberg had 17 of his 35 points on the PP. So he's a lefty, 34 years old, and doesn't actually produce ES offense. Why do people want him?

Thought I'd leave this here since we were just talking Avs prospects:

https://theathletic.com/2...-no-8-colorado-avalanche/

Forgot who all people wanted to see, but at least by this ranking only Byram and Newhook were above the legit prospect range (POJ, Legare, and O'Connor for us were that range).

I can guarantee that none of these dudes who are "woke" listened to that. Just like to spew garbage that they heard on CNN.

On a different note, did you ever see Pepper live? Its a must. I went to a ton of concerts last year and they were my favorite after Iration.

CNN is sh!t but please dont tell me you trust Fox.

Fox is as equally bad as CNN, they're just pushing different fears, agendas and lies.

This is from the Rossi article that will probably be the next blog. Title says Letang expects trade, article is a little different.

And even though he took calls last summer and is currently gathering intel on Letang’s value, Rutherford has also confided to associates that he believes the “right thing is for those three players” — Letang, Crosby and Malkin — “to retire as Penguins for-life,” team and league sources said.

Rutherford’s moves in the weeks following the Penguins’ latest early exit from a postseason confirm what team and league sources described a “joint decision by ownership and management” to stick with the win-now approach for the next two seasons.

That's actually the Avs.

For the Pens, the only guy above legit is Poulin at very good. Legare, POJ, Hallander, and O'Connor were all ranked legit prospects.

The NHL potential list was Puustinan, Lee, Reilly, Maniscalco, Caulfield, and Bjorkvist, which evens out to a top 10 according to Pronman (had to be 22 or younger). I was a little surprised Bellerieve dropped off despite a tough 1st year. He noted Puustinan was pretty close to legit tier.

Fox is the worst. They’re trying to make people think the protests were riots.

Right, so the Avs have two at very good and the Pens have one.

"Legit" is above "NHL potential" but I'm still surprised to see so many names in either for the Pens haha.

Good lord. I thought that Bowers might be a stretch as a return for Murray and he's their 10th ranked prospect

So basically, he doing his job. Better to be prepared than not after two crap post-seasons. I think Crosby will retire a Penguin. I'm really not sure if they'll try to resign Malkin after the next 2 years if things are looking bleak. I'm pretty sure Letang will play out his deal and walk.
