They didn’t have an advantage. We were gifted a 5 minute power play and did (frank) all. It was ours to win and they didn’t.
- bloatedmosquito

Yes we didn't score but it still sucks the game was decided on a pretty questionable call on Miller. Should have let them play it out. But hey... so proud of this club and where they are heading.

Saying vegas had an advantage outside of just flat out being better is stupid. Canucks were bad tonight, not much else to say, better team won

what an astute intelligent observation who knew the heavily favoured fast and heavy VGK were any good and getting a back to back was better for the Canucks... fire Green for losing to those guys.

Canucks just played 17 games of post season hockey. Fought off elimination twice... This is huge for the younger guys.

Demko's value just had a major spike. Trade value way up, salary leverage for resigning Marky if they want to bring him back. Benning also must have more faith in Demko if they decide to keep him. That all worked out great for management and the Canucks.

Trading Demko & paying Markstrom = big mistake.
- DrChristianTroy

Keep them both no mistake there.

Disagree. Giving Markstrom $$$ + starts ahead of Demko is definitely a mistake.

Why? Having a good tandem is what most contenders want. If anything the season and playoffs proved Canucks need them both. They'll give Demko more starts next season its part of his development curve.

It depends on what Marky wants and term. If he walks, you're going to have to sign a very good goalie to back up and split games with Demko.

Get ready for the way overplayed goalie controversy if they keep both next season. Outrage over the salary for Marky. Every regular season 2 game losing streak will be nauseating with the narratives.

I'm for deciding on one or the other. I'd personally like to see our D and bottom 6 get addressed by packaging Demko with someone like Jake and signing Marky then bringing in a cheap back up who is capable.

Did you catch the post game presser with VGK players relief they were able to pull it off over the hot goalie. It was a pisser the skaters bungled their chances to steal it.

Now the cap work begins on fitting these players in. Will be interesting where the upgrades will be given the restraints.

Hell of a team you guys have. Young and only getting better. NHL has a lot of exciting and young teams that will be a lot of fun to watch for the next decade, including yours.

I don't think the players and coaches care what loud mouths say. They support each other and its a good group to keep this solid tandem together to get over the hump.

It was a great effort, they have struggled against this team in the past, big fast team and they played 3 heavy teams and I think they ran out of gas tonight but the better team won but nothing to be ashamed of the battle level is there.

I think a lot is going to go in to the decision, and hopefully Rolly the Goalie has a say if he thinks Demko is legit. Because if he could be a full time starter in 2 years, you gotta let Marky walk.

Either way, I think we all agree (and hopefully JB does too) the bottom 6 aside from Motte needs a big upgrade, and the D needs to be addressed. Some of that can come from within (Leivo, Lind, ZacMac, Hoglander up front, Juolevi, Rathbone on the back), but have to move some guys out and hopefully trade for some upgrades.

They completely ran out of gas.

Vegas played 3 easy play in games, 5 against a young and light Chicago team, then 7 against a light Vancouver team.

Van played 4 against a solid Minny team, 6 against a heavy St Lou team, and then 7 against the heavy fast Knights on a back-to-back.

That's just a lot of wear.

Still don't know why the league didn't push this game back one day. I'm sure we would have seen a much much better effort.

- NewYorkNuck

I agree the B2B was unnecessary. Oh well it was great entertainment & proud if the boys. Next season cannot come fast enough.

This playoff run has been the highlight of 2020 (crazy low bar, I know), but man, it sucks to go out with a whimper.

Fun series, future looks positive. In terms of the bottom six and defence, hope the team promotes from within over the off season.

Ideally they sign Marky and are able to protect Demko...although it is unlikely Marky signs without expansion protection
