Mjl never questions bill. He always agrees with him and expands. Because they are the same. To drive up comments. Mjl stirs up comments with everyone. I figured it out years and years ago. That’s why I rarely debate mjl. Because I know it’s really bill. And I appreciate bill’s contribution to this site and I understand more hits and comments equal more $ for him.

I very highly doubt that to the point of not even considering it as a possibility.

Yeah that would be complete Jekyl and Hyde right there.

Stats have nothing to do with strategies. You're making it up as you go along and are embarrassing yourself. You need to educate yourself on both the sport of hockey and with the shortcomings of the stats you use.

On what basis are strategies formed then? The time of day? The weather?

Ok bud. Its time I took another break from you.

When g was out there no reaction. When Barzal was out there everyone butthole was clinched. Because Barzal line way outplayed g line. (frank)ing had puck in our zone for extended time over and over. Everything isn’t just a poopty no chance shot on net
- SMS4016

Exactly. This butthole clinching factor is what I was referring to.

It shows up in the huge disparity in high danger scoring chances

By my eyes he's easily been the best player by a wide margin this series.

I've watched the GWG about 25 times, how the hell did Hayes know Provorov was there? If I'm not mistaken Provorov was not on the ice when the play was developing he came from the bench once the Flyers entered the Islanders zone. It doesn't look like Hayes sees him cruising into the slot. Incredible play by Hayes.

Sure except the huge factor to that is are ineptitude to play defense, clear the zone and avoid turnovers. The Giroux line played well Barzal line looked more dangerous because our guys were being out skated and out worked. No Dman on the Isles is going to get stripped of the puck as easily as Sanheim was. Lack of experience of our young D has shown in this series.

So Provorov was the 8th Flyers D-man to score in OT. Who are the other 7?

Hints:

Three happened in the same playoff season including two in back to back games.
One of the goalscorers is an NHL HOF inductee.
One player completed a historic NHL feat just two games later.
One player shares a nickname with a current Flyers player.

That is true. The Isles D isn't being pressured as much due to the interference. It is much easier to retrieve a puck on a dump in when you don't have a player on your back. I think the Flyers can amp up the intensity but the interference is definitely a factor.

Seems like Tom Bladon would be a decent guess.

And Andre Dupont has to be one based on your hints.

Well, Hart gives him a pretty good run for his money I would say.

The actual game. The strategies of the opposition. The other players. Time, place and score. Shall I go on?

Funny you mentioned JVR's goal as a John LeClair type goal. As soon as he let that rip I said out loud in my living roo, "ala John LeClair."
- Korcher

My favorite John Leclair goal of all time was the one where he blew it through the side of the net against Buffalo in the playoffs. Can't beat Hasek through the front of the net, blast a hole in the side. The goal stood too. The refs would not review.

You're confused. The question wasn't if Barzal was better than Giroux. I think you need to review. I've already posted what the HDCF ratio was when Giroux was on the ice at 5 on 5. You ignored it. Doesn't fit your narrative.

Moose Dupont, Mark Howe, Eric Desjardins, JJ Daigneault, Karl Dykuis, Kevin Haller. Andy Delmore.

Who is the other one? Can't think of it

JJ Daigneault did not score an OT winner. The other one happened just 4 games ago.
