I’m right there with you. He has a number of personality traits on the ice I can’t stand. During his rookie season he uses to tap his stick on the ice calling for the puck, which clearly gives away his position on the ice. The coaches must have talked to him about that. That’s one trait I’m glad is long gone.

In my opinion his trade value is next to nothing. If you look at just the player, teams may well be willing to take a chance. But given the very high uncertainties that skew negative (healthy scratch forever in favor of guys like Hagg), who will want to take on a contract like that in a flat salary cap, unless they are trading like for like?

I agree it’s low. I always think some teams with lower cap hits would take a chance. Change of scenery is good for players at times. Unless the third line is him and Haag. If Braun isn’t retained. I could see him resigning. But if not I still wouldn’t be opposed as I like cap space. Sign another for cheaper.

I could see 1.5 to 2.2 depending on the season end and length. Imo that’s about the going rate for 3rd d pairs. Myers has to sign and Egor in the wings.

I dont think its inconceivable that Braun walks and they play the lottery of Hagg + Ghost/Friedman/Sam/Zamula and see how things shake out.

Way things are going, I would be pretty surprised if there is Hockey again this calendar year after the playoffs, so it will likely be a while.

Shayne Gostisbehere had a 65 point season in 2017-2018. I do not remember very many young defenseman that skilled having a career path like this. He doesn't even play anymore. Very odd. I think everyone knew he'd never be a shutdown type. Pretty disappointing.

If Grubauer did not get injured, I think Avs would have won in 6. Also, there is quite a drop off in the talent level from their forwards to D. Though Makar may bridge that gap.

Also, there was well over 8 total goals a game on average in that series.
