Third period of I think game 3 he was really good...I'd say definitely above expectations. Game 1, you can't really ask for more than what he did, but I agree he wasn't really called on to be spectacular in that one. For most of the series, though, his rebound control has been

- UIF

Agree he has’nt been as sharp last couple games but there were some bad plays made in front of him as well.

Overall they played well and the lineup I believe will be the same except for maybe Greiss in net.

Who would you go with?

How many times did they get it to Pulock with guys in front and he completely missed the net? 6? 7? I get it that he has a great shot and wants to snipe it.. but when you have Lee and others in front.. get it on net.
- niteislander

Meh I didn’t see enough net presence last night imo. I saw Pulock looking and then try to work it down low because he had no choice. I was referring to his defensive play which has not been good.

Rebound control and lateral movement has never been good.

Canadiens fans said they’d win in 5 and
Isles fans said the same thing and Canadiens fans agreed
Now isles fans saying flyers gonna get swept once and if we get past them by the bolts (who btw we beat handedly in round robin)

😂 ok

Two words.... Carter hart

I don't recall that. Only thing I remember was that, given the choice of opponents, we'd prefer the Flyers to the Bruins, because the latter always seem to beat us. I don't remember anyone predicting an easy series against the Flyers.
- JohnScammo

Yeah nobody does. He just wants to spout off. We win tomorrow he’ll never be on here again.

Golfing 😎

I only get on the boards once in a while and habitually right before golf.

I’ll be back after Labor Day weekend win or lose. But not enough to remember me

More like habitually when your team is not down 3-1 in a playoff series like the five other morons that were on here after you won game. Beat it nerd.

Well, since you asked, I'd go with Greiss. I think both goalies are kind of unpredictable, really. Greiss practically gives me a heart attack out there sometimes. But Varly seems to have lost whatever mojo he had going earlier on, and I don't know if I'd give him a chance to sort that out in a game 7 situation when you have nothing-ever-rattles-him Greiss fresh and ready to go.

But, that's just me. I can definitely see Trotz going with the guy who's been his #1 up to now, and I totally get the reasoning if that's the call.

I would go with Greiss also more because I believe the team May play better in from of him. I think the team uncharacteristically playing subpar defensively at times is in direct relation to them being concerned of the puck going the other way. I can be totally wrong in my observation and Greiss may very well crap the bed because that’s hockey but that’s who I would go with for that reason and because to me Varlamov doesn’t seem to have the confidence he needs the last couple of games.

Excellent. We’ll all make sure to stop by the Flyers thread and tell them it’s because you and the five other funny guys like to visit here.

Greiss only really make me nervous if he has to play a number of games in a row. I would feel really good about Greiss playing tomorrow.

Agreed. Greiss pretty much plays consistently. Rarely has a real bad game but like you said when he’s overworked he tends to start lapsing a bit. That’s why having him as a number 1 is tough. My only apprehension is the inverse of him getting to much work. He looked great in that one game but he hasn’t seen anything else which could be a negative. We also have to remember he’s playing for his next contract for another team so maybe he’ll shine? Like most of us said it’s a tough decision.

please don't lump this weirdo in with the rest of us. a lot of us were hopeful they could comeback in the series, but didn't realistically expect them to. I think game 7 is a toss up. Hoping Hart can play the way he has the last 2 games.

I think getting that one game should be a huge help. He would not be coming in completely cold tomorrow. I'm just worrying about tomorrow's game and if we win we can worry about who plays against Tampa.

I’m not worried about Tampa right now. Far from it. Let’s see if we can win the next game first which I honestly have my doubts flyers have the momentum.

I'm strangely feeling pretty good about tomorrow. Maybe I just do not want to see it but I cannot see the Isles losing 3 straight. I think they find a way tomorrow.

Varly was lights out in Game 4. I thought he made some real great stops.
As we both said he wasn’t as sharp and his game dropped the last 2 games for sure. That said there were so turnovers that lead to the Flyers goals last night.
Let’s agree calling for Sorokin is just foolish.
Well on to game 7, I like our chances.

Why aren’t you out bagging some Tuna right now?

Lee’s goal was a direct result of Barzal throwing the puck at the net and Lee jumping on the rebound.

On offense the Islanders have avg. 4 goals this series. That’s typically enough for them to win a game. How do you propose elevating that? Mix up the lines ? I would love to know what’s on your mind now.

- nyisles7

Has 4 GPG been enough to seal the series? No. Flyers have been breaking down the defense and scoring more than is typically let in by the isles. What's my advice? Score more than 4 on 53 shots. How? More traffic. Crowd the crease. More rebound shots. More greasy goals. MORE OF EVERYTHING, DAMMIT!

Saw uncle Leo doing his Anders impression in front, but no puck came his way.
