He missed the net multiple times. Three of which were point blank opportunities. He also carelessly flipped a puck over the glass putting us on the pk.
He's struggling right now. Hopefully he gets a chance to do something positive

100% agree.. He could have easily had 3 last night. Had the game on his stick a few times. the one where he lifted the Backhander over the cross bar was close but if he realized how much space he had he could have move to forehand and picked a corner.

always easy to see on Replay.. but it was frustrating.. that line has been great though... he is streaky and I hope his next streak starts on Saturday night.

The problem I have with Eberle is that when he's not scoring, he's not really helping the team much. He doesn't hit often or hard. He doesn't win a lot of puck battles. He's soft on the puck.

With that said, I hope he scores the game winner on Saturday.

I think he does more than u are giving him credit.. How many goals were Eberle to Barzal to Lee in the net? Eberle is the guy making that first play.

You do understand if the Isles lose and Eberle does zip again, I will not rest until he is traded?
- ses111

Should have never been resigned, regardless of his discount or whatever he's done, he's to streaky of a player and NOT consistent enough for team to have against the cap.

I dunno, ses. Leo is pretty good on the PK. I think he's been doing his job.

Leo stinks.. sorry. Guy is like a traffic cone out there.. everyone is flying around and he looks like he has a piano on his back.

I would have rolled the dice and let him walk and used a short term option to buy Wahlstrom more time.

I have no issue using MDC with JG and Brassard. Barry trusts MDC's defensive game anyway and playing on a line with JG and Brassard can only help MDC. I do get Barry playing Leo in a game 7 situation though.

I was being totally sarcastic when I wrote Eberle.

Bailey sucks!

Fair enough. He did have an assist (secondary?) last night. He was also -1 for the game, and was out there for the game winning goal against.

I'm not suggesting benching him. We need his potential offense. I do wonder whether advanced stats support my eye test.

I disagree. I don't love the guy, but he is versatile. He can play on the 3rd or 4th line, and he's effective on the PK. He hits hard and he blocks shots.

Isles should learn from philly, all 3 ot goals were shots out high with traffic in front for a screen or tip/deflection

Of the 53 shots the Islanders had Last night many were from the point with traffic imho.
Sometimes the better team doesn’t win and last night was a prime example.

Eberle was a wet noodle out there last night I can care less what his underlying stats tell us. This isn’t money ball if people think that’s the only variable that will win them games they can go find tanner on twitter and have at it with that moron. Eberle had multiple chances to score last night he either didn’t shoot at all or shot it fifteen feet wide. I don’t hate the guy but I’m not going to dress up what we’ve seen from him the last couple of games as being good. I’ll also lump Beau into that evaluation. These guys have to snap out of it along with our entire defense which has been shockingly terrible imo the last few games.

It’s like they all forgot how to play the game they’ve been playing for the last couple of seasons. I say this knowing they played a pretty good game last night but like I’ve said a couple times already there’s a lot of individualism out there at times the last few games and the flyers capitalize, every, single, time that happens. Pelech, Pulock, Lee, and Eberle have been the biggest culprits imo which is shocking. Give the flyers credit they’ve gotten all of the above mentioned players completely off their game for three games now.

With Pelech it’s completely out of character to see. He has made multiple blunders directly leading to flyers goals. Pulock as well. That pairing has not been their usual dependable selves...

A LOT of them were from the point with no traffic in front also. With that said have to give hart credit without him the flyers lose that game last night. If we had that kind of goaltending we would be on our way to the ECF.

#1 lesson I hope the isles learn, toss the puck to the net, especially when we have a guy like Lee clogging the front. Team just doesn't do it, and Barzal is the #1 offender.

I like to know if Mayfield shooting so often was planned. I don't mind because he hits the net.

As i've been saying, the isles need to really pick up their play to make the finals. Yesterday was a decent start, but they will need some offense plans to beat Hart and move on.

Of course Flyers are there doing their job trying to clear the sight lines. That said the Flyers were being out shot 42-17 after 3 periods. Hart played very well last night but hasn’t been consistent. He goes from playing at a .920 + save percentage Like last night and then the next game is sub .900.
He’s been doing this the entire post season.
I hope he continues this trend.
Varly’s game has not been sharp the last couple of games or at least at the level he was playing at before. I said last night Barry would play him again in game 7 but I could see Greiss getting the nod.
That decision is one I wouldn’t want to make.

Playing Greiss is not a huge decision. It's not like you are sitting Billy Smith in Varly. Isles have played both goalies and it's not a huge gap in talent.

Pretty much every mistake has cost the Isles. Forwards cannot give the Flyers defense all that room to shoot. Isles have to get back to getting the puck in deep and winning the puck battles.

Lee’s goal was a direct result of Barzal throwing the puck at the net and Lee jumping on the rebound.

On offense the Islanders have avg. 4 goals this series. That’s typically enough for them to win a game. How do you propose elevating that? Mix up the lines ? I would love to know what’s on your mind now.

Goaltending is the biggest difference and why we all hope sorokin plays like he did on the khl

Never thought defense would be the issue for the Isles. Offense has more than gotten the job done.

I think it’s tougher than you think. Greiss is better off the bench than Varly in my opinion. Varly has been the typical starter as well. That said he has not been as sharp the last couple games. It’s game 7 and it’s a big decision. Every line up change or move is magnified. I think the line up will be the same except for maybe in goal.

Totally agree. Typically in this series the better goalie won the game. 3 times it was the Islanders and 3 times it was the Flyers.

On Sorokin, I agree with hoping he plays like he has in the KHL. That said let’s wait until he plays a few AHL or NHL games before we are handing him the starting or savior job in the POs.

They have held the Flyers shots on goal to a respectable number in most games.
Last night the Flyers scored on most if not all of their scoring opportunities.

Honestly think the Islanders need to rest up and come out and play the same game they did last night and they would win 9 out of 10 times.
