Ummm, Tampa is in tough against, I predict, the Isles. Isles against Tampa, I take the Isles in 6. - MisterBrown
Ummm Isles haven't advanced yet against a much weaker opponent. Good luck with that ummm prediction.

Jake the snake Allen was more like a 1B goaler. He was the starter in st.Louis for awhile as well. The guy isn't a bad goaler. That's why I think Fred gets a 2nd, and like everyone here was saying, Fred doesn't win the big games. - MisterBrown

Lol. The Flyers were one of the best teams in the East this season. That's why they were in the round robin, not the play in... |

Was ok this year. Check the stats the year the Blues missed the playoffs - 2 seasons ago. Shat the bed big time.

That might explain GAA. But not SV%.
It's funny reading this NOW (during possible trade talks) but during the playoffs a lot of the blame (from Leafs fans) was being dumped on Andersen. During that time players would have been laughed at if it was suggested he be traded for a 1st. |

All true. If you asked me before the playoffs what the Blues could do with Jake Allen, I would have thought that it would cost the Blues a minimum of a second rounder to unload him. He was almost as big a pain in the wallet to the Blues as Marleau was to the Leafs, so a first rounder with two seasons left for a stiff that had the Blues in dead last in their cup year - until Binnington showed up wouldn't have surprised at all. That Armstrong was able to fish someone in for a third to take that contract adds value to Andersen.

Exactly. The Allen trade set the market on a goalie with 1 year left. |

Yeah, I think Tampa is just a different animal.
Right now I think the only teams that could give them a run for their money are in the Western conference. |

Freddy will get more than a mid rd
2nd rd pk. 5 mil on cap but only 1 mil
payout is worth more to budget team
ARZ - Kuempfer For Freddy Zstraight up saves ARZ plenty of cash but high cap hit

If they do trade him, they could go after that Hutchinson guy in Colorado. Looks pretty good. |

Nylander
Dermott
Bracco - mr.sir
So Laine can rip it up and we have another 11 mil contract? |

I wonder if Carolina would do this:
Leafs 1st and rangers 2nd for Andersen and Pitts 1st. Leafs move up 2 spots in the 1st round, giving them a chance at askarov or guaranteeing Schneider. |

If the Leafs trade Andersen its to save cap space, I dont see the point to swap out for another G who is paid the same.
Maybe a slight upgrade, but its hard to say...more of a wash probably |

Interesting proposal. Even though Schneider is RHD, not sure if Leafs have him rated higher than Guhle. I think the Leafs would rather take a d-man over Askarov. Schneider may not be available at 13 either. If there is a way to move up in the draft it would be worth a try. The teams that may be willing to part with a high pick are probably the Ducks, Ottawa's 5th overall and NJ's pick. It would cost plenty but a shot at Drysdale might be worth the move.

Freddy asked for a trade. I assume Dubas will trade him.
I see a package deal with Freddy and maybe the first.
Dubas gets who he wants, yet takes on a contract that is headed for Robidas Island. Leafs can afford a couple of crap contracts, Robidas Island is currently empty.
Just a guess. |

I'm hoping for a 2nd round pick and anything beyond that or extra is just gravy.
Goalies never really fetch a lot in trades surprisingly.
