They are playing the best team in the league or close to it, I don’t see them getting by Vegas even with God in nets. - Garnie
I agree ..Vegas should have this series in 4. But, to Senstrolls point - goalies are a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma .... |

Dubas Step #1 - Fix D...
Everything else is secondary - bixll
From the outside, I still mean trading greedy Mitch and his trailer trash mom ( ) is the closest you get to an easy fix... |

i think they need to go cheaper on G to make enough room for a decent D
but Dubas doesnt have the luxery of being wrong again. no room for error - senstroll
Lehner is the only goalie I pay for.
I don't see too many other teams paying goalies over 5 million anymore.
I would love Murray but if he goes to arbitration then he will be overpaid...I think that hurts his trade value. If teams wait long enough on him the Pens just might have to not qualify him. |

Get the D fixed, we’ve got Campbell. - Garnie
In a condensed schedule we trust Campbell and a random? |

Cheaper in net better not mean not as good in net no matter how good your defence is. I’d rather have a good goalie and ok D than the other way around - Canada Cup
"A good example of how no one seems to know who will provide good goaltending: 6 of the top 8 goalies in SV% over the past four seasons (min. 100 GP) have played for at least two teams. Three have played for at least three teams.
4 of the 6 highest paid goalies in the NHL last season (and 8 of the top 13) were below league average in SV%."
From the Pens blog. Goaltending varies and its not worth paying for. |

people have been saying that about goalies for years.
But the good tenders will get their money. |

Sure why not, get some D and play a little more desperate instead of sauntering off for a line change on the backcheck. |

easy fix for what? Making our forward group worse?
You wont get full value for a contract that high. |

I agree that the D needs a bit of a revamp.
but it dopant change that Freddy has folded like a cheap tent when its mattered, time for a new face in net...one that won't get overpaid next year. |

a bit of a revamp?
Dubas needs to go nuclear.
Bunker Morgan and muzz, wipe out the rest. |

It can happen for sure. There are some good goalies out there - lots. Some just get stuck on a team with different coaching and terrible D.
Why would the leafs who are filled with goal scorers play a wide open game when they could win a lot more playing defensive and winning 2-1 or 3-2 etc. |

Sure shut up a lot of people.
Kerfoot/Johnnson contracts have lots of value as well. |

Well, fixing the D with a reliable stay at home gritty guy for starters...
Yeah the cap hit gonna scare a few teams away, but the salary is only 'bad' next season.
I'm guessing there's a few teams out there looking for a super-skilled fan favorite.

If we stay the same and just add a goalie, I see zero change. I agree Freddie can go, but I’m not in agreement with lots of goals some call soft. |
