Anybody who watched Barrie for a few games could see he wasn't the solution to Leafs' problems.
It was a very mediocre trade, should have kept Kadri to play on LW with Matthews or Tavares, and move Nylander |

Probably Barrie didn't work out as well as Dubas hoped because sometimes things don't work out. |

Starting to think Montreal made that trade just so the Leafs couldn’t sign Pietrangelo - mr.sir
Well, good them then. |

That's what I thought initially as well. Hurt your competition. Maybe they have an unwritten agreement between Armstrong and Bergevin, for a follow up move depending on what happens with Pietrangelo |

Your premise was that Kadri was traded because of suspensions. That is dumb. But if a professional yada yada |

Kadri can't play wing. He has proven that at every level. He needs to be a centre to be effective and he needs to be in the slot on the PP. |

How is that trolling? You don't think people here are following ex Leafs... Guy left under a cloud and now he's turned it around.
It's not trolling. Some people are just sensitive about everything. - MisterBrown
Oh please. Dont make it seem like Hutch has turned some magical corner into a good goalie. He's won two games, and he's awesome now? He sucks still. |

"Did we all realize that, heading into Wednesday, five of Nazem Kadri’s eight playoff goals were game winners? Unlike others, I will not cut Kyle Dubas slack by saying Kadri had to go after committing undisciplined acts in consecutive playoffs. He just needed to grow up. It was a bad trade by Toronto."
From some sports writer... Surprised about the 5 game winners.

counter point, trading Kadri for a RHD and a 3rd line center replacement was needed.
also, Kadri did get suspended 2 (frank)ing years in a row in the playoffs...I was/am a big Kadri fan, and defended him on the very site for years while fans (probably like yourself) shat on him daily - senstroll
he lost a trade. happens once in while. but overall, you need to win more than you lose. and win your biggest trades. i don't think you'll last long if not.
the bigger picture is losing this trade is amplified because we dumped a 1st and brown to clear cap space. then we missed the playoffs. seems like a big waste of assets in kadri, brown and a 1st. |

Habs aren't going for the cup next season, they wanna make the playoffs with a rested Carey Price, the move will help towards that. Also, Allen isn't signed beyond next season when we might need the space.
Or did you think Habs were gonna sign every UFA out there? - Scabeh
Dont they always?
I still dont like the trade for tha Habs, but Allen at least will be a good backup, albeit pretty overpaid.
If this was a trade the Leafs made everyone would hate it, but Habs and its a "Smart Move" |

pts wise, the trade worked out in the leafs favour.
Got more production from barrie and kerfoot than would have from kadri.
Lets not forget, barrie may have been a tire fire most nights but he still put up 39pts in 70 games. 0.55ppg
Pretty good for 2.5m per
I know some crazy leafs fans thought hed get 70plus.
But that was never gonna happen.
45 to 55 ish was my expectation. |

Really hurt you to be called out. Then stop trying to be sly with your jabs.. Leafs fans are very tired of the terrible trolling that has been going on.
I bet it stops. Care to wager?? |

If Leafs fans are wondering why some players don't want to play here, look no further than today's narrative that Dubas was stupid to trade Hutchinson.
Oh, FFS.

I mean Jeff Skinner makes 9M per year and scored 14 goals last year, so gotta easily be 9.5M per year....right???
