Not a good deal for the Leafs IMO. - Archaic
its not that bad, probably more realistic a return for Fred.
Keep the 1st and see if you can use the 2nd + that evs to trade for a cheaper G like gorgyev |

Not a deal either team would do imo - Archaic
I think it's ok. Any trade to move up in the draft always looks bad but it's the moving up and adding the 43rd overall pick as well. Maybe we can get them to add a prospect but who knows.
Leafs moved up to get Biggs costing their 1st and a high 2nd. That was much later in the draft. Moving up 2 spots much higher will cost more. |

If Allen gets a 3rd, Andersen should get more then a second IMO. I don't think it's enough, but I guess we will find out |

All the budget teams also want their picks because ELC's are budget contracts.
Goalies are tough to gauge trade value. If they move Andersen I would be happy with a 2nd round pick and no bad contract coming back.

It's not just a 2nd, you're moving up 2 spots in the first round as well. If the leafs tried to move up without Freddie it costs the 1st and a 2nd at least to do, maybe more.
Edit: I don't disagree Freddie should get more than Allen but I'd rather a higher 1st than a low first or high 2nd alone. |

Dunno.
Keep the 1st we have and use the potential 2nd in another trade.
Moving up two spots doesn't seem worth it |

"Did we all realize that, heading into Wednesday, five of Nazem Kadri’s eight playoff goals were game winners? Unlike others, I will not cut Kyle Dubas slack by saying Kadri had to go after committing undisciplined acts in consecutive playoffs. He just needed to grow up. It was a bad trade by Toronto."
From some sports writer... Surprised about the 5 game winners.

Well when you're the first one to say the most likely outcome, it becomes a hot take.

Exactly. The Allen trade set the market on a goalie with 1 year left. - Steven_Seagull
It was the Habs. Don't think they "set the market". Bergevin has never been accused of being a genius. But then again - when you read the Habs blog a lot of them seem happy - have no issues that their team is spending 15M on G position.
If Andersen gets traded will likely be for a 2nd or part of a package deal.
Or some desperate dumba$$ team actually does give up a first... better not be Bruins (with Rask taking a powder) |

If it guarantees the leafs can take Askarov or say someone drops out of the top 10 (which usually happens), I think it's worth it. Lundell or Sanderson, maybe even Rossi depending on if teams are afraid of his height.
I'd rather the leafs be able to get the guy they want that is highest on their list, not someone who happens to fall to them at 15. |
