Nah, youve been on the board. Most Leaf fans knew Pietro was going back to the Blues and there was little chance he went to the Leafs.

But Allen wasn't a pure cap dump. The guy still has value as a quality backup. Sure you know St-Louis HAS to make a move but do you risk not getting what you want and see St-Louis make another trade? Habs took advantage of the situation to fill a need.

And the Habs barely gave up anything. They have 2 more 3rd rounders this draft and already have way too much prospects drafted to respect the contract limit.
