Would be awesome if Lindblom can go.
- jmatchett383

Would be helpful if Raffl could play. He is versatile and can play center or wing. But Lindblom would be awesome!

Hopefully Coots is ok to go. If not idk who they go with honestly.
- hereticpride

I just hope it’s not a long term injury. I know they can’t discuss it but I really would like to know if he’s ok

I expect With barzal they are simply being cautious. He was lucky but seemed like a cut and not directly on the eye. Yikes.

Serious ??????

Respectfully, it's Hart by a mile plus .... not even debatable.

#79 MVP

I could not believe his saves in ot especially the one under his pads I said well that’s it. Omfg. Hart is my mvp but Myers has also been fantastic.

Hart has confirmed what most of already thought, he is for real. Has things to work on but his top level game is already top 10 in this league. He will only get better.

Myers seems like a fit for the top pair next year. Him and Provy together for a decade or so seems like a good thing.

Flyers big boys put on there big boy pants and carried the team. Isles scored two in the third to tie it. Scotty Laughton saved the day in OT. That's the short short version.

During the game when we were 1:0 down they showed a stat that Isles are 10:0 in POs when up 3:1. I really thought at that time how cool it'd be to break that streak. In 2010 we gone through similar experience with Boston when 3:0 down.

This team can match Isles if they want, the consistent effort just needs to be there. I am not sure why any professional athlete has to find it only when faced with potential elimination. Strange :-)

I am happy for G and JVR. Laughton, TK and Hayes were all really really good tonight. G and Jake really drove the boat this evening. Good to see.

The tying goal was infuriating. Clutterbuck just dominated in the corner. How is anyone that open in front of the net late in a one goal game?

I had no problem with the first Isles goal. The Flyers created all of the contact on Hart. Pitlick was literally laying on him after pushing Barzal into the crease.

If Coots is out I am not sure what they do. Keep the first two lines intact. Play Grant sparingly at 3 center? Thompson on D zone faceoffs? Basically double shift Hayes and Laughton when reasonable.

They are really in trouble if Farabee is out as well.

I felt like AV finally went into last night with a reasonable first unit PP and the make up of three scoring lines. Something that might be too little too late but he adjusted. The top 6 and bottom six were painfully divided of skill and grinders/plugs. Until yesterday, we weren’t getting anywhere with that bottom six make up.

Just keep Grant off the ice during power plays.

I thought Grant was a solid pick up pre Covid. He’s offered nothing since August.

Flyers are finally starting to show some offensive moxie and confidence. Is it too late?

The first Isles goal was the correct call. No goalie interference. Hart has to make the save on the Isles 2nd goal. Haag has to do a better job on the tying goal. It's about time Giroux, Konecny and Laughton, all obviously key players for this team produced.

Flyers got outplayed, badly, last 10 minutes of game and gave up a 2 goal lead. Isles looked like they had a man-advantage in the Flyers zone while Flyers entered and exited the o-zone almost immediately. Sure Couts being out the 3rd didn't help. Thompson is awful. G's goal was awesome. Farabee got crunched like an accordion. TK looks ready to get some goals. Hart was impressive in OT.

If Thompson is awful, why do you think the coach consistently uses him in heavy ice time in certain situations? It would not surprise me if the Flyers re-signed Thompson for next season.

Respectfully disagree that the Isles’ first goal was the “correct call.”

Moving on, though...what an added jolt it would be if Oskar’s in the lineup for game 6!

He is not awful. He fills a role. He looked bad on the tying goal though. Signing him as the 4th line center/extra forward would not be the worst thing.

Entire Flyers crew on the ice did not look good on that goal. 4 skaters were on 1 side of the ice and #8 abandoned his post to shift closer to the puck leaving the scorer free and loose. Boosh was commenting on Hart's stick not being in correct place, but I am not versed well enough in that to comment.

The thing that bugs me about the first goal is that Barzal shouldn't be able to make a sandwich in the crease. He lingered there far longer than he should've imho. The second goal really surprised me - very uncharacteristic of Hart to miss that one.

Anyway, it's done. On to game six.

The Flyers play an overload puck support system in the defensive zone. All 5 skaters will be on the puck side of the ice by design.

I personally dont understand the Thompson hate. I think he has been the most effective 4C/PK type we have had in years.

Why on gods earth is Thompson getting so much ice time?

If we had the defensively superior Hagg playing instead of Ghost, the blown coverage down low and missed pass breakup on the tying goal would not have happened.

As long as he is surrounded by two Flyers, you won't get that call. Pitlick was prone on the ice between Barzal and Hart. Barzal had just gotten up on his skates after being off balance and hanging onto the cross bar. Provorov wedged his stick into Barzal. It sucks but the correct call was made. Agree, Hart has to make that save on the 2nd goal.

Barzal was completely stationary in the crease and did not make any attempts to leave. Was he there long enough time to disallow the goal? I do not know.
But Lamorello's and/ or Trotz's teams have always enjoyed a longer leash in regard to rule book.

The second goal may have been deflected high.
