So the options to replace Couturier would be Raffl, Frost, and Lindblom.
I think if Raffl is ready he would be the way to go. He's a responsible defensive player who is versatile to move up and down the lineup. I think he would be the safe choice.
Lindblom is a true inspiration, kicking cancer in the teeth is such a wonderful thing. What courage and heart this kid has. I don't think it would be fair to put him in a playoff elimination game after not playing since early December. He's a heck of a player and I'm looking forward to seeing him play next season after the benefit of a full training camp.
Frost gives you some offensive upside, and creative playmaking, seems obvious that Vigneault doesn't trust him as he hasn't dressed for a playoff game as of yet despite healthy scratches and injuries. - PLindbergh31
I have an idea that will satisfy all camps.
Ghost as 4th line center and #7D that comes on during offensive zone draws and 2nd pp. Grant moves up. Nate-Ghost-NAK. Nate takes draws.

Wow that would be a tall task for Frost. Maybe he slots in lower in the lineup, but the Isles have last change next game and he might get caved in as he hasn't played in quite a while.

They said he hasn’t been taking the pregame skates. So assumption is he is hurt. If coots is out guessing bunnaman may be back in.
Or they go with 7 d men. Giving ghost offensive zone starts. - Peter Richards
Its amazing we posted almost exactly the same thing in the same minute. |

he skated yesterday. Hopefully he can play. He's really the only legitimate option. Bunnaman is an empty uniform. There are already enough passengers in the lineup to begin with. |

I can maybe see Ghost as a 7dman, but not playing center. |

By far the best option. |

he is an average bottom pairing dman at best. I really hope they move on from him as he doesnt warrant type of raise and I believe freidman can and will be better than him in every aspect. - login
Aren’t they about the same age. One has played in the Nhl under different coaches and gms. One has not. What do you think those reasons are? |

good deal for the blues really. Not sure what montreals angle is on this deal. - login
Well Carey price is older now and probably shouldn’t play 60 games, he has been injured somewhat frequently, now they have a reliable backup. Not sure what Montreal’s angle is tho. |

If Frost plays, he's got to play with skilled players to be effective. Having him out there with Grant, Thompson would defeat the purpose of playing him. |

If remember correctly Thompson lost coverage which set everything in motion, I think most rests with him and hagg - wcorvette
Yup, Thompson lost him on the wall, gave Clutterbuck an opening to go deeper as opposed to pinning him on the wall and pushing him toward the blue line.

Why are we so against giving Frost a shot but Lindblom who just had cancer and hasn’t played a game in how long should be insterted in the lineup? |

And then Hagg covers the ice shavings in front of the bet, Hart is doing god knows what with his stick, plenty of blame to go around. Can we be done with this |

I don't think Lindblom is a serious option for this series. I think the Flyers wanted to have him with the team as inspiration, and to be around the guys. Which is a good idea imo. He deserves to be there after what he's gone through. If the Flyers advance maybe he would be become an option at some point but who really knows. |

The thing about FS is that he is only 32. It boggles my mind. He looks and acts like he is 50, was president of PWHA at 31, and has been around seemingly forever. - PT21

So you want to play Ghost out of position in an elimination game? |

Lindblom, before his diagnosis, was a top-6 forward. Frost was a call up who looked lost after 2 games. |

coaches choice. One can be more ready at the time. Variety of reasons. Point is hagg is very replaceable. You give friedman or whoever a shot. Then if cant handle it you make a move for someone who can. Hagg just doesn't move the needle in any way for me. |

Very slow foot speed to begin with, jumping into playoff hockey after an 8 month layoff would be a horrible decision to put him in at this point. Would love to know when we are allowed to take the training wheels off Frost |

can find a reliable backup for less than what allen makes. Blues were in a crunch and got great value back. |

8 month layoff after being very sick to boot. |
