I'm having a hard time thinking the leafs get anything more than a removal of the cap hit for Andersen with as you said, a bunch of goalies available. Some young and some more experienced.

Even though he's coming off a 5 million dollar year contract, I would still offer Lehner 5 x 5. I know he's 29/30 but the stability might be enough for him.

We'll know more once he comes to NA.

I obviously haven't been watching a whole lot of him in sweden.

Anderson's value comes from the fact that he is a bonafide starter that is owed 1 million in cash this year. All those other goalies on the market are going to command much more real $$$.

Because the leafs care more about cap hit than they do cash.

Some teams care more about cash than cap hit.

There is an opportunity for the leafs to get better or stay the same in goal while reducing the cap hit of the goaltender.
