korpisalo is 2.8 for 2 more years
Georgiev is an RFA, lets guess 1.2mil
Demko is 1mil for 1 year then rfa

All seem reasonable, but Campbell is here for now..do you only get 1

just need to know the cost to acquire. I guess we can assume any return for FA is about the same for these guys

- senstroll

Not alot of precedent for "good" young RFA goalies getting dealt.

Varlamov, Freddy, Grubuaer. All seem to be about a 1st round pick.

I wonder if Tampa tries to cut ties with Stamkos in the offseason? Guy has been injured and missed so many big games.

Campbell put up numbers on a very bad team Freddy never has. I'm not saying it means he can be a #1 goalie, but I do put him as a guy you can have in a platoon or 1 and 1 B situation.

The days of having a starter for 65 games a year should be over for the Leafs.

Have you seen the Islanders play?

Tampa is gonna have a run for their money next round.

Because yes, the Islanders are gonna get past the Flyers.

And never bet against Trotz!

Well, other than the fact he's only made it to the third round once in 20 tries, but other than that, never bet against Trotz!

I know you’re being sarcastic and I agree with what you’re getting at.

But he looked halfway capable playing behind a decent defence.

That speaks a bit toward how poor our D has been IMO.

- Byfuglien Ate Me

Also, how responsible their forwards play as well at times.
Some people just wont understand this.

But Hutch wasnt great either.

I blame Dubas for 9/11
- Zezel

Maybe just blame him for assembling a poopty team that can’t even make the playoffs or win a round when they do get in. Lots of proof there.

I could see Georgiev cost 2 or slightler more if he is moved and signed to team that thinks he will eventually be their number 1.

we'll see.

All those guys were useful in their role when here.

I think the Leafs should look at goalies Gorgiev, Jarry, or Kleumper or pursue Lehner in free agency.

Then they go after a good top four rh defenseman like Dumba, Suban (if the cap is split with NJ), Pesce, Parayko, or Manson in the trade market. After that add Bogosian or Schenn from free agency to provide some more physicality. Of course the elephant in the room is Pietrangelo. personally i would like to see a back end that looks like this:

Reilly-Parayko or Suban
Muzzen-Bogosian or Holl
Sandin-Holl or Bogosian
Lehtenen-Liljgren or Dermott

Jarry-Campbell

or...extremely low likelihood of being more than a depth player

Which pretty on par with players that get drafted in the 3rd plus rounds.

The issue with Campbell isn't that he could be a good starter - it could be worth the risk.
His background of having difficulties to cope with adversity and 'failure' just seems to be a high risk in a market like Toronto.
It would be great if he could improve on that mental issue - but that's very difficult to measure.

I could see Dubas trading away Andersen (Carolina or Edm) and then trade for Georgiev or Korpisalo though to battle it out with Campbell.
I wouldn't be completely against that - given the capspace created - but don't think it's idea

agree on that, its risky for sure.

i just assume Dubas wants to improve the D, while keeping the big 4 intact for this season. So there isnt a lot of options

KD has to be creative with capspace.

Right now, if Mikheyev lands around 1.75 they'll have about 3.3 to spend on Rielly's partner. Not enough.

So the options are:
1. Save money in net;
2. Cut more depth by trading Johnsson or Kerfoot and replacing them with cheaper players;
3. Go Big - move Willie for a D man or to create space for a big signing; OR
4. Some combination of 1-3.

For me Freddy, Dermott, draft picks, and one of those middle six fwds (Johnsson, Kerfoot or Mikheyev) are all being dangled around.

Isls feel like the 2017 sens to me, go on a nice run, get close...over estimate how good they are..make some moves to "improve" ...then go nowhere again
- senstroll

I feel like this was said last year .....and the year before.
Each time they made playoffs or had a good stretch in the reg season....someone pointed out it wouldn't last.
It may not.
It may.

We'll see.

Agree. They had their evil degenerate caliphate in the bag, then tried to take too much territory. Idiots.
