Unless Allen is more of a long-term play and Price is about to be moved.
- winsix

They needed a goaltender to be exposed at the draft.

Allen becomes that goaltender.

There is no way Price is going anywhere.

Don't forget the curse of Roy is still in play. Price is not a loud mouth what if he quietly asked for a trade.

What curse of Roy?

Despite their shortcomings elsewhere, if there's been one constant with the Habs since Roy left, it's that they've almost always had pretty damn good goaltending.

I see no indication that price wants to leave.

So no Pietrangelo. Probably.

Hamilton and DeMelo it is then.

Yeah because that has always set back the Leafs years.

People upset at Dubas for getting players for free or signing players to league minimum are unhappy in life and are just looking at things to complain about to make themselves feel better.

Curse of Roy - Started Dec 2, 1995 - cited by winsix. "when Roy tells Molson and Tremblay to (frank) off"

Similar to : The curse of the Bambino.

I have to correct you on this one. There was one concert, I have the program and ticket stub in perfect shape. The Dark Side of the Moon Tour. One of my first shows - at Maple Leaf Gardens. Music was amazing, a great version of careful with that axe Eugene. Pink Floyd by-passed Toronto on every other tour. Wish You were here was at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Animals was in Montreal and the Wall was only NY and LA.

- winsix

Nice call - March 11th, 1973 @ Maple Leaf Gardens.

So only one time with the "classic" lineup in TO.

Also: you lucky bastard!

what are you babbling about?
a 29y old offensive smallish d-man that has played 5/6/7 duties with the Sharks.
nothing against adding some d-guy, but leafs don't need more bottom pairing d-men (lehtonen, sandin, liljegren, holl already have to compete for those 2 spots, with rielly - muzzin - dermott needing another d-man for top4 duties).
it makes 0 sense to add a guy like heed unless 2 out of sandin/holl/liljegren will be traded.

Sounds like fun. Pink Floyd is on my concert bucket list, would settle for Gilmour/Waters

My first show at MLG was RATM back in 1999

Seems like an especially expensive goalie to pick up just to expose them to the draft.

"typical Dubas move"

Keep complaining about the free depth adds.

It looks good on you.

(frank), that would've been awesome. So envious.

Would you trade that for being old? But yeah, being old filled with good stuff is not so bad and I actually keep forgetting I’m old.

Saw Zeppelin in ‘71 or 72 but was there to see Savoy Brown. Wasn’t a bigZeppelin fan but managed to get up to be in front of stage for a laugh

The alternative to being old isn't a great choice

I'd rather spend 80 million on a team with ok skills but superb mindset (example: Las Vegas) than 80 million on players with incredible skills, but flawed character.
for all the talk about 'character', 'mindset' and 'will to win' - seems the NHL (and professional sports in general) still has a few steps to make in player & team evaluation of these psychological and character traits of players.

The main goal here was the get a quality backup.

Him being expensive doesn't become an issue as long as the cap space is sufficent.

Habs still have plenty.

Fun fact, Roy came back two days later saying he didn't mean it but they traded him anyway.

And he didn't tell Molson to (frank) off, he told Ronald Corey, the team's president.

Ahh the Tremblay/Houle years.... the worse years in franchise history.

I agree, and if they can pay Alzner $4.625 for picking his nose, paying a decent backup $4.35 million is actually a good deal.

Step 1 - build half your team from players other teams want the least
