Really? I've always thought that "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" was one of the best tracks from that album. It was always the title track that I found to be a bit of a slog. - mjones242
Yeah, I know. Thinking on it now it feels crazy to me, too. |

line 1:
Hyman - Tavares - Marner
seems all set and no changes needed.
line 2 (1B):
?? -- Matthews -- Mikheyev
Matthews needs two linemates that complement him better.
Nylander should be traded, and Johnsson as well - so that creates an opportunity for Leafs to get some different type of linemates for Matthews. Mikheyev will probably get that 2nd line RW duty - unless Barabanov pans out to be a better fit with Matthews and the new LW
line 3:
Robertson -- ?? -- Barabanov
Robertson will be given the opportunity to excel on that third line, with the option to play top6 minutes if he does really well. Dubas added Barabanov with the idea to be on the team, and not as a fourth liner. Leafs will need to add a #3C - Thornton is an interesting option there, but ideally Leafs bring back a younger option there and play Thornton as a fourth liner and PP specialist.
line 4:
Engvall - Thornton - ??
Engvall imo was one of Leafs most consistent players in the five games vs Columbus; he's earned his spot on the fourth line. Leafs need to decide whether to bring back Korshkov back from Russia, and whether they should give Spezza another year. I'd prefer Thornton over Spezza (at same contract AAV).
13th/14th FW Clifford/Gauthier/Spezza.
So Leafs trade Nylander - Johnsson - Kerfoot and do not bring back one of Clifford/Spezza/Gauthier. I think Gauther should be back.
Need a 2nd line LW and a #3C back + plus a top4 RHD partner for Rielly/Muzzin.
I think there will be more changes on FW than on D this off-season - as well because more options are available on offense than to add an important defender.

Saw that tour at the Gardens. It was great. Loved the Band it is interesting that they are rarely included in lists of great Canadian groups even though their roots are strongly Canadian. They were playing coffee houses in Yorkville as Ronnie Hawkins as the Jayhawks before they known as the Band. - winsix
Check out Robbie Robertson: once we were brothers
I think it's really good stuff on The Band. |

No question there are a few that remained together, but so many big egos, ruined so many great bands or limited their success. - bixll
They just divided it 3 ways and voila.
Or you could have the Eagles getting back together but 2 guys wanting to be paid the most and wonder why it didn’t work. |

Roger Waters is very high strung while Gilmore is laid back. Waters actually kicked Richard Wright out of the band. I went to see the Animals tour, (there was no show in Toronto) in Montreal at the Olympic Stadium. During the concert some (frank)er was throwing fire crackers on the stage landing at the feet of Waters. He stopped playing and had a tirade about stopping the concert if the guy didn't stop. The idiot was roughed up and escorted out, but the tirade by Waters was over the top. - winsix
If I'm not mistaken, Pink Floyd w/ Roger in the lineup, never played a concert in Toronto.
They've only played Toronto on the Roger-less AMLoR (both) and TDB tours. |

I agree saw it and loved it. The Last Waltz has always been a favorite of mine. Always get a laugh out of watching Neil Young doing Helpless at that show. He looks totally stoned doing that song.

I caught them at the CNE on The Division Bell tour. It was the first "big" concert I had ever seen and it set the bar for everything going forward.
It blew my teenage mind away. |

Nice, I had front row Rush for my very 1st concert ever (1984) been chasing that one forever. Don’t think I’ll ever beat it though....Roger Waters front row was close though. |

I have to correct you on this one. There was one concert, I have the program and ticket stub in perfect shape. The Dark Side of the Moon Tour. One of my first shows - at Maple Leaf Gardens. Music was amazing, a great version of careful with that axe Eugene. Pink Floyd by-passed Toronto on every other tour. Wish You were here was at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Animals was in Montreal and the Wall was only NY and LA.

Bastard Habs making that trade just to screw the Leafs from trying to get Pietrangelo. How dare they?!?! - GreatGigInTheSky
I'm sure it was considered.
Habs also had so many goddamn draft picks, giving up a turd for Allen is no big deal.
And we FINALLY have a backup that can play.

Ah no cups, you cant win with having the 2 best players in the league.
Trade them both and build a team like the Islanders. |

That's the part I don't get. I think Allen is done. I guess you guys had the cap space, but I feel like this is a waste.
Only one year though, so not a big risk.

So Trouba was traded for the 20th overall plus Neal Pionk.
That is Parayko's value give or take.
Parayko/Bozak-1m retained
Think there could be something there. Add Kerfoot as the player going back and that is 6M more in cap space.
12.5M and that's enough to sign Petro, Dunn and a few depth pieces to fill out the roster.
Or they could sell the farm to get rid of Steen and Bozak...Given the money issues felt around the league that would cost ALOT.

His salary isn't an issue going into next season yeah.
I would never trust Allen as a goaltender to win the cup, but he's proven to be a very capable backup over the years. He's obviously an upgrade over Kinkaid/Lindgren at least.
If Allen can give us 20 decent games, i'll be happy. |

Unless Allen is more of a long-term play and Price is about to be moved.
