Another good example.

I think I am the only human on earth who has seen Springsteen once.

I was bored out of my mind. Went for a beer (it was at the ACC) and ended up walking the concourse, looking at the Leafs photos.

Like Dallas coming out of the WEst or the Blues winning the cup last year.

I'm not a music guy (2 songs on my phone), but the obsession with the Dead baffles me.

I just don't think they are that good.

Surely there's other music to smoke dope to.

- Atomic Wedgie

I’m not sure I’ll do a good job explaining this well but they were great in their very own way but it was a way that didn’t get captured in recordings and they didn’t really care about recordings except really for Working Man’s Dead.

They were incredibly into each other musically when they were playing, but not necessarily all that into the audience. They would flow from song to song, riff to riff. A lot of this came out of the Acid Trip stuff when they were Ken Kesey’s house band.

Their concerts were amazing social events with different things going on in different areas. They didn’t care if people recorded their shows and all these people have these amazing sets of tapes and talk about slight differences in how Garcia plays one section of a song someplace compared to someplace else. Garcia and Bob Weir were amazing guitarists.

Even if you’re not a fan, the documentary is worth watching just as an insight into the time and the evolution of a band.

He seems to have a bad season every couple seasons. Thats not exactly 9M material.

Oh well, goals pay money.

He’s not our problem, we’ll have to worry about JT in a few years I’m thinking...that should be our only worry and maybe getting some NHL D to help us.

Your first statement about not being a music guy is supported by your opinion that the Grateful Dead are not that good. The band was formed originally as a jugband folk band with blues influences. Of the original members, Phil Lesh although trained in classical music is easily one of the top ten bass players in rock history. Bob Weir is an exceptional guitar player and writer. Garcia was a master player at electric guitar. Robert Hunter did not play with the band, but wrote many of the lyrics. Their music catelogue is excellent, but the Dead were predominantly known for being a live band with exceptional jams and improvisation. When the Grateful Dead toured in any of their versions (pre - 1995 with Jerry, the Dead, Furthur, Dead and Company) they never played the same setlist twice. Rarely even repeating a song from the previous night. To say they are not that good without having listened to or knowing the music or the band - whch is exceptional is an uninformed opinion. It's like saying a book is sh!t without ever reading it.

Sweet .. I went one time with my sister to see him at the Fabulous Forum... was bored after 15 minutes, ran into a buddy of mine we dropped a hit of acid and walked home through the hood. I think all the gangsters were like Wtf these two white guys walking around in the middle of the night laughing their ass off back to Long Beach...
Just completely surreal...

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. He was such a cool guy and such an under appreciated guitarist. Rhythm guys don’t get the love. I should watch it again.

I dunno why you're all ragging on Springsteen and the Dead (who i admittedly don't like very much) when April Wine exists. Arguably the biggest benefactors of Can-Con regulations ever.

From what I read in here you wouldn’t get Hamilton’s sperm for Freddie.

Plus there’s a ton of goalies available.

I quite like mine. It was from one of the rare times that Garf actually responded in his comments section. I don't care about the context of the quote, he still said it.

True, I wish we’d grabbed Hamilton a couple years ago...the team would have looked a lot better I think.

It's a good documentary. Bob Weir is an amazing human being. Apart from being a great musician, he is easily the guitarist with the most hours performing live on a stage in history. He started playing as a teenager with the Dead, many of those shows ran anywhere from 3 to 6 hours and about 200 shows a year. In addition he had solo tours and tours with his band RatDog.

Andersen is only owed a remaining $1M for the 2020-21 season.

That may be tempting to a cash-strapped team.
