You're right... neither has really won anything at the NHL level, especially in the past 2 years... so I guess we're in agreement that neither has established nearly enough in their career to be worthy of a childish nickname like "McJesus". That said, when exactly has McDavid done anything even approaching what MacKinnon has done in this year's playoffs, by joining Messier, Orr, and Trottier as the only players in NHL history to have a 13GP scoring streak in the post-season? Factor in the fact that MacKinnon is nominated for 3 NHL awards this year to McDavid's 0, and I really have no idea why it's such a problem for people to acknowledge that just maybe MacKinnon is having an exceptional year that is just a bit more impressive than what McDavid has accomplished over the past year.

The one and only reason a GM would think about this for more then 30seconds is MacKinnon's contract.

McDavid plays on average with RNH and some random 3rd winger grinder of Tippet's choosing , McKinnon plays with Landeskog and Rantanen
