yeah, I think we all were, I think it was the catalyst for this blog completing breaking down too, it made us all turn on one another

It was the same mistake over and over and over again with no ability to adjust. If I was on the podcast today, would have said the same thing regarding why Philly blew a 3-1 lead yesterday. Went into a shell and had wrong personnel on the ice.

I will never forget that one game we were up by something like 5 goals and I told my kid we were winning because Hank wasn't letting in 5 goals in a playoff game.

Little did I realize Hank forgot to take his Halloween Swiss cheese costume and gave up six goals...4 to Pageau.

what's amazing about AV though that despite all that, he's always in these spots, his team's always win playoff rounds, his team's always have leads in playoff games and it isnt over yet either

That Carolina pick is being shopped for sure. I think now is who can they trade out, then after the playoffs it'll be who can they bring in via trade. A few players need to be dealt before we land our off-season prize; whomever that may be.

If I'm Strome I would have to at least be considering the notion that a team friendly long term deal could make him another Steve Rucchin. He could spend the rest of his career with Panarin/Lafreniere on his left and potentially Kakko on his right.

"Oh look it's 60pt Strome...guy scores 60 pts a season because he signed a 7y deal at 4M per and gets sandwiched between point per game players every night."

I would hope Strome would take a reasonable contract, I have heard him speak about how becoming a Ranger changed his career, even before this past season before Panarin got here.

I dont expect him to take 4 million a year but 5 mil a year 6 year deal seems reasonable.

Most likely a $5M/2-year deal is going to happen.

Look, would I like to upgrade from the guy...yes, but he does work with Panarin well...he can find Breadman, Breadman can find him, and so on. How many times have we brought in high profiles centers just to watch them fail.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And don't break the bank, too.

two year deal for Strome and for God's sake no NMC on that so they can expose him to Seattle

I think any deals that go down this off-season will be 2-year deals for everyone for that reason.

If he has another productive season, then think about protecting him. When it comes to centers, I recall Michael Nylander and his two season here. Two really, really good seasons (79, 83 points). And what did Sather do? Let him walk to the Caps and then overpaid for Drury and Gomer. The fallout? It chased Straka (who also had very good seasons here--three) and Jagr (remember him?) out of town because their production dipped. Our first line went from dominance for two years to nothing because of trying to change what didn't need changing.

Again, don't overpay Strome...I'll get physically sick if he makes more than $5.5 for more than two years...but keep him around to see if he can keep up the production.

I’d like to see if they can get Dvorak out of Arizona. 55% on faceoffs. Not overly sexy, but he’s got a cheap deal in relation to his production. And better players to play with here

I get that he’s probably part of the future there, but worth an ask.
