SHAME ON YOU!!!

Seriously, though...not a bad idea. Unless Smith is a gonner, then this cannot happen.

I am not really that jazzed about trading assets for a LHD

I am jazzed about trading assets for a top 6 center, yes.

To me it depends on who they target. They just need some sort of upgrade over one of Staal/Smith next season

My thought is the centers in the pipeline are more ready then the D prospects. Ie Barron. Where I think they’d rather give them a chance then get a center. I do want a center tho, just thinking as a Ranger front office guy haha

Barron is a huge key, if he’s any good that’s gonna be enormous and humongous big

I still feel like LHD has the most plentiful hockey players in the world

they are literally everywhere, hanging on street corners, inside 7-11's, LHD everywhere

we are just stuck with two poopty ones

Barron will be in the AHL (if it has a season). If you look at the kids stats, it takes him a year or so to adjust. I don't want him "adjusting" in the NHL as a 4th liner.

I love how every player in the league he wants to acquire he thinks Strome, Tony D, the carolina pick and Georgiev will get it done

like it doesn't matter who it is, his latest is that will get us Eichel

I mean, come on dude

the other day he said that package would get us Barkov and I told him he was out of his mind

to think Florida would be interested in Georgiev is insanity, and why the hell would they want Tony D

I told him Barkov would cost Kakko, bottom line

I'm raiding the CapGeek website and am wondering how a potential performance bonus affects the cap? Does it? I see all our ELC's with that. I hope that doesn't hot the following season's cap hit if they reach those bonuses. That's another $8M cap hit just for next year.

I saw that. Florida is already in a goalie crunch with Bobby and his $10M/per for another six seasons; all the while the kid goalie they drafted in the first round waits his turn.

Bonuses don’t count I believe. I think that’s why they are called bonuses?

I don’t get mtl getting Allen unless they trade him again. That’s a lot of money for a backup. Money well spent elsewhere was a better idea.

I'm not so sure. There is another row listed as carryover bonus overages. What the hell is that? I'm trying to find a team that has this penalty to see what it does to their cap; if anything...

I found the C'yotes have this penalty hit next year. CapGeek has it counting against their cap; but then again, they also show Hossa counting against the cap and he is on LTIR.

Yes, they do count against the cap the following year.

I believe this was discussed last year.
IIRC, bonuses count against the cap in the same year they are triggered. But, if you run up against the cap, they are deferred to the following season as dead cap space to ensure they are paid out and not kicked further down the road.

Players can't be on LTIR in the off-season. Once the next season starts, injured players salary will come off the books at that point.

yeah, it usually works itself out because you can go 10% over the cap in the offseason

No...wasn't it fvcking JP Pageau? That little fvcker. Only scored against the Rangers that year?

Critical leads in critical playoff games...let's put Staal and Holden out there to defend the lead late in a game.

- mames11

I am still trying to forget that. Think that was the maddest I was as a Rangers' fan in the last decade.

Blueshirt banter have a couple of interesting names for LHD targets..Dumolin and Chycrun. Obviously trades, but both would be great partners for Trouba. They’d have a great top 4.

Dumolin is probably a top 5 defensive defenseman in the league. Very underrated. No offense but we really wouldn’t need that

- Slimtj100

I would love Chychrun, but if OEL is possibly available, I don't know if Arizona moves him. But the team needs picks and prospects, so a match might be there. But getting him would mean moving others to free up room, as he is making $4.6 mil AAV the next five year. Dumoulin was solid and Pittsburgh needs him opposite Letang. He too isn't cheap at $4.1 mil AAV the next three years.
