If Raymond were available at 6 I would be calling Anaheim.

Risto and 8 for Henrique and 6.

- Pegullaville

Normally I would not be a fan of moving up 2 spots, but that deal makes a lot of sense for the Sabres. Maybe for the Ducks as well.

It's a good idea to entertain, but with Raymond coming in and Cozens here...I just don't see the Sabres needing Rico for 4 years. They could trade him in 2 years if those guys pan out I guess. But will somebody take him at 32 w 2 years $5.8m ... potentially, they might find some team that is in the same boat the Sabres are now.
Could work for sure.

Let's say they do that deal and still draft Rossi.

If they have Rossi, Cozens, Eichel, and Henrique, in the ultimate best case scenario that both Cozens and Rossi are fantastic in 2 years, you could always have Henrique be your 4th line Center, as while that is not ideal at his cap hit, you would be getting serious value out of Rossi and Cozens on their ELC deals.

It would be humorous having a 4th line comprised of two players with a total cap hit of nearly $12M.

Just like in 2017 when Elias Pettersson fell to 5, if Raymond falls out of the top 3 I think a lot of teams will be kicking themselves in a few years

I've been thinking Bonino in that regard, and seeing if he would agree to a short term extension, and then this offseason seeing if a veteran like Soderberg or Haula would sign a one or two year deal.

I think we are now getting closer to reality rather than Sam for Monahan trade.

Other guys I still want Adams to pursue is Josh Anderson. If he fully recovers, having him as 1RW or 2RW would be interesting ... I'd then consider leveraging Sam for a much needed 1RhD. Use packages of Montour, 2021-1st and more if necessary to get a responsible 2RW

How about 3 Game 7's this weekend!
I'm pulling for:
Avs
VGK
PhI???

As a Sabre fan, I hate the Flyers, but with the Bolts my 2nd team, I think I'd prefer they play Philly than the Isles ... Trotz is a great coach.

Expext a few big CB deals done by Week 1 but much intrigue and jockeying going on. Bills were closing on White but stalled. Ramsey and Rams talking but how close to $20M does he get? Lattimore/Saints and Griffin/Seahawks negotiating as well. Doubt Humphrey/Ravens gets done soon

- GERBE!!!75PTS

Yeah I said a couple weeks ago the Bill's and White were close, was told they were hagling over guarantees, and then they got Dawkins done. Something happened with White, still think they get it done before the season opener. Was told that's why they didn't go hard after Yannick N.

I have said the name Craig Smith multiple times, but he would definitely fit the description for line 2 RW.

I wonder what it would take to get Reilly Smith out of Vegas. I can't see them trading Tuch, but maybe they would Reilly Smith? He would be another great fit at RW.

Lundell with a goal and an assist today. Skated 17.48 and had 4 SOG.

Like the kid a lot, him and Rossi could be the most NHL ready of the group.

Still think if both Rossi and Lundell are at 8 we should trade with the wild And squeeze a second round pick and make him move up one spot

Its no secret that the wild are drafting Lundell the GM wasn't very smart when he showed all his cards in his press conference

That could be a smoke screen.

If you trade with the Wild to get an additional pick, and the Wild take Rossi instead, what then?

Then you are exposed as the rookie GM that you are.

Guess it would depend on who the Sabres have graded out higher. And would also depend on what moves the Sabres make in FA and trades.

Agreed. Don't fool around. Draft who you like at your pick, unless you do something like what was proposed earlier, such as Ristolainen and the 8th overall to the Ducks for Henrique and the 6th overall.

Unless Rossi was first on your board.

Then you've just been taken to school.
