Button is adamant he's a center. Specifically a second line center. He's better in space where he can create. Said the habs would either be looking for younger, proven defensemen or gritty wingers. Sabres could help with the first part. Not so much the second.

What?
Tage, is like 6' 112" and 360 lbs with dynamic skating abilities ...look at his pirouetting videos...Fvckin amazing !!!
Adams needs to get 5, maybe 6 1sts for him!...

I mean he posted like 2 G 3A in our 5 game beer league...cat was ...well...BIG!

How would the Bills defence look if Tre White tears his ACL tomorrow ?

Johan Larsson is tough to play against as he is a selkie level defender. The LOG line made us one of the better defensive teams in hockey.

We are losing our 2nd most important forward from this past season.

- Pegullaville

How would KC look if Patrick Mahomes had TommyJohn surgery on his throwing arm.

Holy poop dude.

If the Sabres followed the above package to start, we’re talking about the eighth overall pick in the 2020 Entry Draft, 25-year old Rasmus Ristolainen and either top prospects Dylan Cozens or Rasmus Asplund.

Ristolainen, the 8th overall, and Cozens for Laine? (frank) right off with that nonsense.

Go reread Chad’s article from this morning then. Johan Larsson is a top 10 defensive forward in the NHL.

Jeff Skinner and Connor Sheary had the best stretches of their respective seasons when he centered them this year.

Larsson will go somewhere and become a solid 3rd Line Center and allow a team to use their top 2 Centers in heavier offensive usage.

- Pegullaville

I can see this.
He is valuable IF, AND ONLY IF the Sabres negotiate a trade for a young 2C who isn't defensively effective but is reasonably effective offensively...i.e. Domi, Monahan, etc.
Then Larsson provides good value taking the D-zone starts to flip the ice...and get off, because be absolutely SUCKS offensively...great XGF...horrible actual GF. That is worth...??? $2m?

Else, move on...boring ass hockey.
I don't want to watch Devils hockey here...pass

Not really. Not ones for free, or ones who will cost little on the cap.

And pretending like the Asplund’s or Lazar’s of the world can do the same thing is as ridiculous as acting like it’s Drury leaving

Yawn.

Unrelated to all this good hockey talk but would You:

Singletary and a 3rd rounder (maybe a 2nd)

For

Kamara?

He’s amazing BUT that’s a lot of $$ you’d be investing at RB

we will never see 3 goalies again like hasek, roy and brodeur in an era again

ever

- navinrjohnson

To be fair they never saw rubber coming at them like goalies today. In their time there were some good shooters on each team but in today’s game most players can rip them pretty good.
Not saying they were not stars because they were above that status but a different game was played back then. Today’s game if much different.

The Winnipeg writers are saying if we want Laine that we need to give them Eichel, they are higher then the people on this site with there ridiculous trade offers.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports the Bucs are among "several teams" making a push at signing Leonard Fournette.
A Fournette signing seems to be the only thing that can dampen the strong Ronald Jones training camp hype. It sounds like there are a few teams with relative interest, but it's important to remember that no team was willing to claim him off waivers earlier this week. The Patriots are reportedly one of the other teams in the mix. Fournette likely finds a home by the end of the weekend, if not sooner.

The hype on Laine should have died down by now. His first two years, his 18% shooting was achieved only by players in the '70s, '80s and '90s. The past two years his shooting is a more reasonable 13% and his goal totals have shrunk to 30 and 28.

He is massively overrated imo. Largely due to Canadian media hype

All that may be true but, we could use him but not at the expense of Eichel. They need defense and we have that plus.

The problem is he does a lot of his scoring on the PP exactly where Eichel plays on that left halfwall. If you move Laine off that, he's not as effective, and that's where Eichel is deadly. I just don't think he's a fit. We also basically have a left shot version in Olofsson on the other side on the PP.

The assets would be better spent on a center imo
