He wouldn't be facing the toughest matchups here. That's Eichel's job. He'd be riding in Eichel's wake instead of riding Gaudreau's coattails
- jcragcrumple

I believe someone posted here the statistics that says he Doesn't get the toughest matchups and still stinks..

Thing with Murray is he made mistakes like no other GM does.

Like 2 seconds and a top 6 D man for a career AHL’er

- sbroads24

That's one of the worst things TM did was crush are prospect pool. Still haven't recovered.

I sincerely doubt it. For one thing, with the exception of Bogosian, all of those UFAs were of his choosing. If that was the plan, he could have executed it last offseason.

He kicked the can down the road, as he did with everything: bridging players, keeping 100 defensemen, not solving the center problem for half of the (redacted) administration.

It was always tomorrow with him. Tomorrow never came

- jcragcrumple

I'm with you on his shortcomings and suckiness. Still think this was the off season

He really didn't give away any good prospects they're pretty average in my opinion

But the countless Draft picks that he just tossed away that's what did us in

He would have gotten a great deal from a "GM he could trust." Bjugstad and Murray for McCabe, Hutton and a 5th

He's not worth it he won't be the same here his d is disgusting bad and he was Riding Johnny hockey forever ..

If it's something other the 8th maybe

- GERBE!!!75PTS

He'd have Jack and the top line taking a lot of heat off of his line. Monahan's been a 60-65 pt. player throughout his career. Not much wrong with that

Two years ago we’d have all thought it was nuts to trade Mittelstadt for someone like Monahan. Mittelstadt might not make the NHL.

Whoever we pick at 8 will be the greatest in the world until he’s not

I don't like giving up the 8th but, but Monahan is young enough still to be in that discussion.

It's possible - and if you believe what the experts say about this draft being the best in 15 years - even probable that the 8th overall pick ends up being better than Monahan.

Even so, the trade would be beneficial if Monahan puts up 60 points at 2C and allows Cozens to mature into his role, rather than being thrown to the wolves.

Might even get a couple playoff appearances out of it. And a happy captain

I'm not a fan of just making the playoffs and being done in round 1 the Goal should be a cup contender and 8th overall pick can be that piece to help us some day

25 yrs old. In his prime. I actually like him and would entertain a Monahan trade with a swap of firsts and Buffalo sending either Montour or the rights to Pilut the other way

skinner got 40 goals with eichel last year
and reinhart has 150 points in his last 185 games

getting guys for eichel is not the issues, its the middle 6

- navinrjohnson

Skinner will disappoint you and Reinhart is a second live winger playing first line minutes . Skinner has a history of being extremely inconsistent post contracts

How can two opportunities create a pattern? His first contract after his ELC he scored 33 goals in 71 games, then 18 in 77 the year after, but I'm also pretty sure he had a big concussion calling into question his career during that time too. Yeah, he had a bad year last year, but I would hardly call that being "extremely inconsistent" after signing contracts especially since he's only signed 2 not counting the ELC.

You may be partly right. But look at their stats over their careers. Leads me to believe your goal is nothing more than hating and trolling

Most would agree that Colorado's, "new NHL
/analytics talent is better than Dallas. Yet they're on the cusp of elimination.
