Totally agree as it feels like the clock has struck 12 on Binnington and he is turning back into a pumpkin.

So does this apply to Monahan who you are vehemently against?

Like Is Domi free or something? I think he's going to cost a lot

- sbroads24

I am not against Monahan at all.

I am against giving up the 8th overall for Monahan, Cirelli, Danault, or Domi.

That's all I am against.

Why? The Sabres can’t wait 1-3 years for the prospect to pan out or bust. If you trade for a player that you mentioned. You know what you get with them.

Hmm... You seem a lot higher on Domi, who's probably going to get paid as much or more, and longer than Monahan and is the same age.

Maybe you think he's going to cost a lot less than #8. Personally I don't.

I am high on any pair of Centers they can bring in that will help after the past 2 years

To be serious though, I believe Monahan is a better player, but the reason I think Domi would cost less in terms of assets is that Montreal is 4 Centers deep while Calgary has Monahan and...not much else currently.

I also like Danault more than Domi, but I think there are more than enough NHL people who understand analytics that know Danault is worth more and would cost more than Domi in a trade.

Can Montreal really want both Price and Allen with the combined cap hit? $14.8m per? That’s crazy! Have to think Price is moved or Allen is flipped.

If Price is moved, he will need a 1st with him to even get a team to take him, maybe 2.

Really weird / interesting move by Canadians.

Edit: Price is 33 with 6 (!) years left at $10.5 per.

Awful cap management by the habs. 15 mill dedicated to goalies is not how you win hockey games

Button is adamant he's a center. Specifically a second line center. He's better in space where he can create. Said the habs would either be looking for younger, proven defensemen or gritty wingers. Sabres could help with the first part. Not so much the second.
- jcragcrumple

Button wouldn’t know his own a$$ if his head wasn’t up it most of the time. I’d rather listen to Burke even though he screwed the leafs in 3 easy moves

Speaking of goalies I’m still trying to figure out how a goalie can ave a 12-14-4 record with a 13 game slide.
Help me out here I’m almost out of scotch.

I agree for the most part, except on Danault. I don’t think GM’s watch every game these guys play, and I don’t think he gets a ton of attention.

Domi
Monahan
Danault

Of these three he’s the least productive in terms of points, and least recognized in terms of name recognition.

He’s sort of like Vincent Trochek to me.

Agreed on Button, but Domi had his best season in 2018-2019 when he was a Center.

every goalie in St. Louis looks good at times.. Allen, Binnington, Hutton, Elliot.. they all had stretches of good play but never can string together a long run of success

I can see the Trocheck comparison.

I agree that they don't watch every game, but there are enough people that work with the teams that follow and believe in advanced statistics that understand the value of Danault.

Of the three you listed above, I bet teams value Danault the most.

Domi's minutes got cut a lot then he did the whole delete MTL social media ties.

IMO they will get less for him than Monahan, a guy who doesn't need to be moved.
