But is on ice Xgf/60 was 60th among centers with at least 500 minutes this year.

His on ice scoring chance for % was 58th. Behind Danault who was 3rd.

His offensive zone starts/60 were a lot higher than JK and Danault.

Danault is a ton better. And will probably get paid less, and worth less on the market

Most would agree on the better player being Danault, but I believe he will cost more in a trade, and his next contract might not be as cheap as we think.

I think Monahan is a much better option than Domi, mostly because Domi is going to get a long term deal, and we will probably look to trade him sooner than later, just like his last two teams. Monahan offers the Sabres 3 years to get Cozens into that 2C spot permanently.

That's a good point, and a piece of evidence to suggest he at the very least knows what he's doing. Unlike Adams, he actually has experience in this role, in and outside of a uniform.

Being a leader was his bread and butter. I'd be zero surprised to see Nathan Paetsch become a defensive player d coach.

That’s fine .....Monahan produced on average 60 some odd points each year at a first line center.

Imagine how much better he could do at 2C facing teams lesser talent. He would be perfectly slotted on the Sabres roster
