I absolutely believe you need to build through the draft. You also need to hit on post round 1 picks to be a successful team.

But we at least need to be honest about what these prospects are compared to known talent.

Laine is a guaranteed top 6 35 goal scorer, who probably will at least get a smidge better in other areas and moves the needle A ton on the PP. He’s 22 years old.

What’s in the draft matters too. There isn’t a consensus #3.

Also- one of the reasons I mentioned Ottawa is they are going to have to spend some $$ at some point
