Most would agree that Colorado's, "new NHL

No. It's not. There's a huge cottage industry promoting analytics as a be-all/end-all, which is actually crazy.. It's something I've been fighting for years.

I think they're already short a LHD - Michael Pachla
I liked where you started going in this blog. A good 3C changes the complexion significantly. That + Cozens and Mitts battling for middle 6 time is a reasonable situation, even more so if they can extend Larsson (with Lazar and Asplund also as viable C options). Overpaying for an established 2C, with assets they simply can't afford, would be GMTM level short-sightedness.
For all the talk about Mitts last season, we tend to overlook that ERod was expected to be a viable middle 6 C. |

Scott Wheeler
@scottcwheeler
Rossi had a number of professional teams in Europe interested in signing him. He, his family, and his agent Serge Payer decided that focusing on training and preparing to make the NHL club that drafts him was the best route. They think he’ll be in the NHL this winter
Told you he be ready |

Yes, because agents are known to come out and say their clients aren’t ready for the NHL. Pump the breaks on Rossi for a little because:
1. If he is NHL ready he’s not lasting to pick #8
2. If he doesn’t last to #8 you’ll be crying for years he’s not a Sabre (Keller ring a bell) |

Probably.
Broads and I were talking about this earlier. If JB were still GM I would say this outcome would be about 90% likely. I dont know what Adams and Krueger will do. Maybe it'll be the same but at least there's a possibility that things will be different.
I actually think theyll acquire someone at-or-above the mendoza line of Bonino.
Hope springs eternal, Yada yada - jcragcrumple
Why is Bonino the mendoza line? He's damn good. |

Lundell is the most NHL ready of all and he'll be available at 8. There are many more reasons he would be available at 8 besides being NHL ready. |

It would be nice if we had a choice between Rossi or Lundell even Holtz. Lundell is gonna be a very good hockey player. |

Even if the choice would be between Lundell and Drysdale, it would still be two high quality players available. |

Oh, very true. Just thinking forward at that pick. But Drysdale is gonna be very good to. |

25 yrs old. In his prime. I actually like him and would entertain a Monahan trade with a swap of firsts and Buffalo sending either Montour or the rights to Pilut the other way - Michael Pachla
I would be very surprised if that would be enough to get Monahan. I Think Calgary would need a top six forward added to the package. Perhaps Thompson, Mitts, or Kahun.
I still think that Dvorak is a better option. It could be that you could get him for 2020 2nd, and a protected 2021 1st and Asplund. He will likely be your 3rd line center in a year or two because I believe in Cozens. He is signed for four years, at a decent cap hit, and is a strong face-off man. You rarely see Centers traded one-for-one. It usually takes a package. |

Dvorak is high on my list to, and Arizona is tight to the cap. |

Why are we trading all that for your next year's 3rd line C?
A first? Really? |

He had 37 in 33 games 2 years ago and 93 in 76 games 3 years ago. That seems like more than poop.
He was not great last year. Agreed on that. |

Still wouldn't sign him to the obligatory 7 year deal, which brings him to 35 years old |

Absolutely agree on that, but he's definitely done more than poop in the past 3 seasons. |

Sort of related:
The Coyotes have 1 draft pick in the top three rounds in the next two years (1/6). Yeesh. Talk about services missed with Chayka |

What Hall are you getting, might be fun to see him next to Eichel. Personally I don't think he's worth the contract he will get. |
