He's kind of a wiener. Cassidy, I mean.
- BINGO!

I'd probably feel the same having lost to him twice in as many seasons. Brind' Amour seems completely rational and without fault though.

Cassidy backed his player, I respect that. He was wrong, so I disagree with him, but I respect him not throwing his player under the bus. Ritchie was inserted into the lineup to do exactly what he did. He's not there to score hat tricks.

The hit wasn't that late and I never thought it was. My first reaction to seeing it live was - "Oh poop! Ritchie just killed Gourde!", and then my second thought was "Well, that was a little over the top unless Gourde did/said something to have it coming." It never crossed my mind that the hit was late or dirty, but apparently the talking heads had various hot takes on it.

Goodrow stood up for Gourde. I liked that. Good old fashioned hockey and ultimately nobody was hurt (thankfully).

ALL coaches do that post games under similar circumstances. Only a complete fool throws his own players under the bus.

No I don't mean the postgame defending his guys. that's fine. I get that.

Brind'amour is an emotional guy and makes a lot of lineup decisions I don't agree with.

This was also only his second year as a head coach at any level. He's getting better, but there's definitely room to improve.

K. Cassidy has one more, 2 more seasons as a head coach. That extra 2 years A. Completes his development and B. makes him a Richard?

Carolina lost because the goaltending and team defense is suspect. You should get over it. When Tampa eliminates Boston you won't find me in their thread taking shots at them. I'll be in Ek's thread, making fun of him. Like a person with dignity.

So what do you mean then? What exactly makes him a "weiner"?

A) Thank you for your confidence in Tampa.

B) Tampa doesn't have any threads or a blogger. He's gone AWOL.

It was Cassidy's attitude in the pre-series press conference that kinda gave me pause. Brind'amour was all about praising Boston and Cassidy's response was essentially "Thanks. Here's why we're better and going to win."

Which, I mean, I'd probably love if it were my team.

As far as experience, come on man, Cassidy has been the head coach of (in order):

Jacksonville Lizard Kings (ECHL, 2 years)
Indianapolis Ice (IHL, 1 Year)
Trenton Titans (ECHL, 1 Year)
Grand Rapids Griffens (IHL/AHL 2 Years)
Washington Capitals (NHL, 1.25 Years)
Kingston Frontenacs (OHL, 1.25 Years)
Providence Bruins (AHL, 5 Years)
Boston Bruins (NHL, 3.25 Years)

Dude's been a head coach for all or part of 19 seasons since 1996, though, yes, only 6 of those were at the NHL level.

When asked what his opponent does better this year than last year, Cassidy replied "I don't know if they'll be more effective (than last year.) It's a will game this time of year. Our guys are pretty good at it."

It was just his unwillingness to pay any compliments to the opposition that kind of rubbed me the wrong way.

The NHL experience was what I was referring to. But yeah he has a few years there.

You should take that on Stonie...you're pretty level headed and not an overly homer type.

Thanks for the beating? Actually maybe thanks. Maybe the Bruins will figure out that imitating Detroit or Chicago is not their identity. In order to do so you need more than 1 line not 3 studs and 9 plugs. I hope you win tonight and I hope they gut this soft as baby poop team.

Also you'll hopefully get a blogger soon. I'll stop by... but I won't be a Canucks fan about it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I am too much of a poop-talker and pot-stirrer to be a blogger.

If I am a Boston fan, here is what I would want to see Cassidy do :

Mix things up a bit and call some audibles. The game plan isn't working and Tampa seems to have your number. You aren't getting any production from your bottom nine. So, maybe double-shift Marchand or Pasta on the 3rd and 4th lines. Throw off Tampa's coverages a little. Throw Marchand out there with Coyle or something. Just mix it up. Don't get crazy and do the line-blender, but stop rolling the same combos and expecting better results.

Maybe park Chara or Ritchie in front of Vasi on the PP. You might a few pucks past Vasi if he can't see the shots coming. Get creative and maybe craft a new set play or two. Something.

Cassidy just seems to be doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, and it's not working.

I'd rather he park Ritchie in the stands...

Given the current results, I would concur.

Any word on Kuraly?

Still injured to my knowledge and haven't seen an update. Wagner is definitely out though. Ritchie didn't skate yesterday so maybe Cassidy's hands will be tied.

GTD on both Kuraly and Ritchie. Looking like Bjork slides back in and Studnicka gets a shot.

- bluemoon737

Rask - Gutless
Chara - retire
Krejci - Seen enough
Miller - Done
Moore - Trash
Nordberg -PLug
Lindholm -plug
DeBrusk -plug
Kase -plug
Ritchie -pant load
Zboril -bust
Senyshyn -bust
Kuhlman - plug
Bjork - plug

I would keep Krug over any of these losers(Excluding Chara from that comment) and that's absolutely the decision that should be made.
