I think COL is going to be exhausted about midway through the 2nd. If khudobin can keep it close until then, DAL will run away with this game.

Gram Parsons - a major talent who tried to corner the market in every drug imaginable.

What happen to the linesman grabbing the glass and lifting themselves up?

So far, it looks like no.

But I love a Dallas comeback that proves me wrong.

The Hawks don't take goalies in the first round?

Jimmy Waite might like to have a word with you TC . Although the Wikipedia entry is pretty funny... 'Ed Belfour in the system ....' I thought Eddie got sign as a UFA out of college the same year that Waite was drafted ... of course I could be wrong...

Not sure it was the same year but they signed him and Bob Mason the same day. Think that's right.

At 26 years old, in Joshua Tree, in 1973.

He was also with Keith Richard and the rest at Nelle Cote when they recorded Exile - and may have played on the album.

I think the Crow situation has the potential to turn into a Brian Urlacher. He wants to stay. The team wants him to stay. But the player is insulted by the pay cut and he retires (or signs with someone else).

Young was there from the beginning but wasn't ever planning to stay and tour with them until later.

I saw Neil young at the old Chicago Stadium with the Rock and Roll Will Never Die concert and that night in the middle of the night I awoke to the concert replying itself in my eardrums...it was really weird that tribe sounds were so loud they got saved...and I was already hearing challenged from 3 nights a week at the Hawk games, I never experienced anything like that before.

- wiz1901

Gosh Wiz. I was at that concert too. It was Neil's "Rust Never Sleeps" tour in 1978. He had the Road-Eyes (think Star Wars), the giant amp and mic on stage. Neil's best line of the evening was after he started with a couple of acoustic numbers he was tuning his guitar and said "when I get real big I'm gonna get me an electric guitar".

Neil's always been one of my favorites and yes, the "more barn" incident really happened (look it up).

From a financial standpoint that really wouldn't be so bad. Same goes for all the other RFA/UFA's. If you're ever going to play hardball this environment is the time.

The Athletic created a list of the top Blackhawks prospects (more like young players) and their likelihood of making the NHL. It was pretty good and they seemed honest, saying some guys would likely never make it tot he NHL.

So real surprises. Dach, Boqvist and Mitchell were #1, #2 and #3.

Other notables:

#4 - Suter
#5 - Nylander
#7 - Kurashev
#10 - Sikura
#13 - Vlasic
#16 - Beaudin
#18 - Kalynuk
#23 - Teply
#39 - Shalunov
#40 - Ejdsell

Several Russians that we’ve heard about seemingly forever are apparently not ever expected to come here:

Shalunov
Nalimov
Altybarmakyan

Sage, I could be wrong, but I think Nalimov has an AHL contract. Shalunov is a no. Last guy, I'm not too sure.

Just checked. Altybarmakyan has an AHL contract too. Nalimov might have been a PTO.

Yeah, Altybarmakyan has an AHL contract. I think the piece was just saying that he has a ways to go until he can challenge for a spot in the NHL.

I was asking about him few days ago. I was saying that it seems like he was drafted for the sole purpose of being included in a trade. From what I've read and seen of him, I really want the Hawks to keep him and see him succeed.

Altybarmakyan is on an NHL contract. He and Barratt were signed to ELCs on the same day.

Nalimov did have a PTO and was on the Hogs but never got a chance to play a game before the shutdown in March.

He is now back in the KHL recently signing with Kunlun, a team he played with a few years ago for like 4 games.

Any of you ever work with someone who is a job hopper, not being able to stay with one company for more than a year? That's Nalimov.

Yeah, Beaudin is a lot lower than I would expect on that Top 40. He's top 10 in my book. Vlasic, Quenneville, and Kayumov are even ahead of him.

While I like Vlasic's potential, he has a long way to go to put everything together as far as using his size and skating to defend consistently. Guessing at least 2 more years at Boston U before going pro.

Quenneville just seems like a placeholder to me. Easily leap frogged by other prospects and likely not in the system in 1-2 years. He's a great AHL power forward (physicality and lethal shot) but seems hard-pressed to snag a regular NHL job.

Kayumov re-upped with the KHL for 2 more seasons so the earliest you see him in North America is 2022-23. Even then, he's not really turning heads. Altybarmakyan is more intriguing with his agility and electrifying skill.

Beaudin had a see-saw rookie pro season but on the balance showed steady growth. He's gotten stronger and starting to bulk up while learning how to battle and defend in multiple ways, not just stick checking. Generally, in any zone, he's making smart, simple plays.

You bet, Breadman.

For those of you without an Athletics subscription, here's the full top 10:

1) Dach
2) Boqvist
3) Mitchell
4) Suter
5) Nylander
6) Delia
7) Kurashev
8) Barratt
9) Highmore
10) Sikura

Barratt is a surprise to me in a list that includes Dach, Boqvist, and Nylander (i.e. youngsters with significant NHL time).

Subtract these 3 then I can see a case for Barratt in the top 10 along with any of Beaudin, Carlsson, Hagel, and Entwistle.

Evander Kane and Matt Dumba African Ameican NHL players, have cried out for the NHL to show recognition over the disgrace of the Blake shooting in Milwaukee.

A proper guess would be that they would like for teams to postpone a game ASAP. Yeah they want to feel special recognition is due.

I suppose one postponed game doesn't add up to a lot of hassle. But I really do not feel it is worth doing. The only reason I feel that I would go along with it, is just to appease all those whom feel it should be done

This means little to hockey viewers as they watch games on the tube and not in person

But the real issue within the issue is the bigger story. The evidence in front of our own eyes is that too often protests over an injustice (shooting) has led to violent demonstrations with damage to property and bodily injuries, even deaths, which happen during the protests.
Somehow (red font please) taking a back seat is that crime occurs against innocent parties. The police OT and reparation for prooerty damage and goods stolen is going to cost taxpayers. Even taxpayers if some of the crimminals may actually be taxpayers

Obviously two wrongs don't make anything right. And unless I am reading the American undercurrent opinion wrongly, more Americans are fed up and angry over the looting and damage than the empathy for the BLM

Obviously a better solution for everyone is to work with politicians and even courts to recognize the concerns expressed by BLM. During an unprecented time in our country, indeed world history, where personal and world economic financial well being has taken a beating due to covid19, this BLM out of control damage to the econmy must end.

I have friends whom are African American. I cut the grass for an absent neighbor whom is African American because her tenants refuse to take care of the yard. Yeah I shovel the snow too. I don't mind being a good neighbor. I get along fine with everyone. But I have no respect for those - and it is not all African American -who loot and damage. Those within the BLM movement whom do not loot and damage, I respect your grievances and am willing to see what can be done about it

Meanwhile why don't we all just take a day off work. Close transportation, convenience stores, the police and firefighters just enjoy a day off. You believe everyone is praying and crying and complaining how terrible this all is. Do you really?

Yes we are complaining. I personally wish for society to work constructively to recognize the concerns BLM has. But stop crying poor and put on your work shoes. The past cannot be erased. Society can work together to recognize and to try to make things better. Including penalties against abusive police if their actions were wrong. But remember out of control crime results too in nervous police. Cut back crime by giving poor more opportunities. Yeah the extreme wealthy won t like it but society can at least do something....let us talk and not riot and damage.

Postponing a hockey game though is just sour grapes in the overall picture. But people are crybabies and ignorant so I suppose to keep temper down we should postpone one game. THAT WE CAN ALL LIVE WITH.

Well thought out argument. My issue with this whole Boycott thing is why don't they do the job they are paid for? i get protests and no where is racism right, but how does it get solved with more violence? the NBA players should take some of that money they all make and put it back into their communities. Why not help support some of these young people? Get them educated and then they can Police themselves, when its a BLM person shooting another BLM person will it still be an issue?
