if we select Holloway say instead of Zary it does seem somewhat a reach for need first. Either would be an excellent choice. Curious to see how the draft plays and wiz review of it all.
- jhawk59

With the "best player available" strategy in mind (Holloway vs Zary):

Taking Holloway would be great because it would add a winger with size who is industrious, competitive, sound across in all zones, committed to defense, and offensively gifted.

Don't think Holloway will be a game-breaking top line PPG winger but would be happy if he turned out to be Saad-like just with more consistent offensive output, i.e. reliable at ES, PP, PK and able to produce at a 50-60 point clip on 20+ goals.

Taking Zary would be great because it would add a middle 6 center who could push for 2C duty but likely to excel best as a stellar 3C. High hockey IQ, strong 3-zone player, and talented offensively.

The main knock on Zary is his skating. But unlike Strome, Zary brings so much more to the rink including being able to execute smart plays with and without the puck. He's not glacially slow but could stand to add some explosiveness.

The Indy Fire have been doing that all summer with a slew of signings. That's minor league hockey for you. They need all the publicity they can get.

Wonder what the announcement is for the Hogs. Colliton returning as head coach?

Not to sound calluses but this all because a black man got shot did they report that he raped a 15 teen year old girl and was armed with a knife. Enough just giving in to their agenda which is ripping this country apart. I m all for justice and equality no matter the color of skin gender or ethnic backround. Nhl should keep going and if they or players want to make statement before the games then ok that flag that keeps getting poop is the reason we the people can speak freely.

Guys, it's been fun.

To those whose balls I may have busted - and have busted mine back - I never took it personal/always in good fun (as if we were BSing in a bat)

After all, we all somewhat at least "liked" SOMETHING about the Hawks!

I'm done with Hockey as I had hope they wouldnt cater to the cancel media mob as well, but unfortunately money talks.

It's been fun, and I truly did enjoy ALL the HOCKEY conversations - the good and the bad.

Good luck out there

I am not sure either are there at slot 17 even though they are on my current board.

Zary gets where he needs to.

I am not sure Zary can play like Lundell, but what if he is there?

And I am gonna say it again: despite what you read, Dylan Holloway has skill beside powerful leg drive, edginess, and body English, I was worried he would be off the board before the hawks picked at 10, so dont get your hopes up like I have because the recent stats are reflecting ppg.

He had 88 points and 40 goals in BCHL the year before college.

We might see the hawks focus on a guy they see as a skilled long term project who IS gonna get bigger and stronger and is a scoring centre.

When Hockey restarts Saturday and Sunday, which benefited from the days off?

Lots of players decided to stay in the bubble to extra days.

By the way, you probably won't be informed by the mainstream media, but the medical examiner in Minnesota determined George Floyd's death was due to drug overdose - not the cop kneeling on his neck. But the facts don't matter after the "protest" train left the station 3 months ago and large parts of cities have been burned to the ground. Defunding police because a criminal resisted arrest and swallowed a lethal dose of fentanyl is sound logic to those looking for an excuse to do what we have witnessed. Ignorance is bliss. Let's cancel everything. Not just sports - everything should be cancelled until equality of results is realized, and not just in the U.S., but everywhere in the world. Cancel movies and TV, cancel music, cancel school, cancel work, cancel medicine and health care, cancel alcohol and other drugs, cancel every form of happiness. Everything should be cancelled until everyone in the world feels exactly the same level of miserable. What about people who are better looking or stronger or taller or are smarter than other people? Yep, those people need to be changed so they're uglier and weaker and shorter and dumber so the ugly, weak, short, dumb people aren't disadvantaged. If this is about equality for all - than it needs to be thorough and without exception and that can't happen until everyone is exactly the same in every way. Let's get started.

Honestly, I am not sure what happened in one case of thousands of racial injustice acts that have been happened in this county for centuries...changes the current political climate...that we need to fix it, with discussion, with friendships, no close-mindedness and admission there iS a problem.

I support the police and BLACK LIVES MATTER.

I know you can't there, brother.

Just saying good bye to the few friends I made on here

No need to respond if you're not one of them.

And yes, i am not on the side that supports violent pedophiles that resist arrest

You're on to something Raptor! Your comment reminds me of a short, but thought-provoking dystopian story I read in my (much) younger years--"Harrison Bergeron" I believe it was.

Do you really think this is about not getting to watch hockey? This is about a whole lot more than hockey games. If this was really about what it is claimed to be about, the people protesting/rioting should be protesting the living conditions that fosters the violence seen every day in Chicago where innocent children are murdered because they happened to get caught in the crossfire between rival gangs and drive-by shootings. The protesters don't seem to have the same level of concern for those black lives.

Gotta respect anyone that can play through the Stanley Cup finals with a collapsed lung (among other ailments) and go directly to the hospital afterward. Just wow.
