Peter Chiarelli, Kevin Weekes, Eddie Olczyk, and Scott Mellanby are set to be among the finalists in consideration for the Florida Panthers GM role, according to the NY Post. Several teams have interest in hiring Olczyk. #FlaPanthers

🤮🤮🤮

With that group, Pierre Mcguire should throw his hat into the ring.

Sure they do. If anyone has the rite to do that, it's the owners. They OWN the team.
- kritter65

And they are doing a superb job of:
-alienating employees with a toxic work environment as reported by numerous ex-employees
-alienating fans who contribute hard earned money the Pegulas count on for Revenue
-alienating players with mismanagement of the organization and earning a distinction of a destination very few players would choose

They have a right to do so no doubt, most in their position would try to avoid the above at all costs.
It is a rather unique approach no doubt , lol.

Isn’t Chiarelli the one that makes stupid trades. Can he get the job and maybe kp/rk through ka can make a silly trade for a fla player?

Well if PC did get the job, would he be willing to trade AB to KA and the Sabres.

He was a hell of a player.

6-11 and could shoot the 3 before it was cool.

If only! Even with PC, I’d start with 8 and mitts... it’ll never happen but fun to dream.

I would take Stamkos
- GERBE!!!75PTS

I actually think Stamkos is who they try and trade to make cap room this offseason.

He makes $9.5M next year compared to his $8.5M cap hit, but his final 3 years are $7.5M and then $6.5M and $6.5M.

That's an excellent window of opportunity for us I think.. With 4 years Remaining not too long not too short it would be perfect for us..

Only question is the cost

Stamkos will be 31 to 34 during that time, and his contract will end right around when Cozens, if he is for real, will be in line for a raise.

I have no idea how much they would want in return.

Would you do a trade for him? If that cost was not too high ..

I'm guessing they would want picks and prospects maybe they take sam or Ristolainen but I doubt it ..

They’re not gonna want to bring any salary back and the cost to acquire will be way to big picks/prospects wise for me to want to do it. My guess is it would start with 8. And then a fairly large add from there.

He's not waiving for Buffalo. Why even bring him up? Covering for the Pegulas?

What do you mean covering lol ..

You're probably right about him waving but Isn't his home Toronto so maybe he wants to come closer to home.. But it's just an idea

If he wants to play close to home? That's all I have really as to why he would.

We brought it up because we were discussing who we think Tampa will try to trade in the offseason to shed salary.

With Stamkos having an NMC, he could be very specific with where he wants to go, which would bring the return down.

It's happened numerous times with players, most recently with Trouba and Adam Fox.

Yeah I’d counter with Trouba isn’t half the player Stamkos is and still got 20 and an NHL player in Poink. So even if that’s the starting point I’m still confident that they would get 8+ for him

How many teams that would want and can afford to take on Stamkos salary have a pick that high available?

I'm not confident they would get a top 8 pick in this year's draft. A 2021 unprotected 1st? Absolutely.

And just because they’ve looked good without one of the best players in the game doesn’t mean they’ll sell for less then he’s worth. If you think the first guy they’re gonna ask to waive is stamkos I don’t know what to tell ya.

Great.

I don't care. Just glad we still have a team.

- kritter65

This has to be the dumbest take of all time. Especially considering the bar the owners verbally set for themselves when they bought the team

Why should we settle for a product mostly not worth watching, let alone an experience worth paying to be a part of, all while the owners insult every single fan including you, by publicly doubling down on their incompetence when questioned

You completely forgot about firing half the front office and NOT replacing anyone

Promoting Adams with 0 GM experience and is the gm puppet of Ralph and Kim

Cutting ties with alumni on the bills and Sabres

The area sucks and is a dump

Cheap AHL coaching hire since Taylor would be too expensive

The whole “maintain the pegula lifestyle”

Kim telling the fans we know more than you ...... then fires botts 2 weeks later

Bills marketing team quitting before the season

Terry saying we need to be more economical

Blames bad advice for every coaching and gm hire With the sabres -> take man accountability

Completely screwed up the 50th anniversary

The list keeps going. But sure they are wonderful people.
