It would be nice but the current state of society dictates otherwise. Id like to commend the mods here for letting people talk.

While both sides have some valid points, Ive lost a lot of respect for some people here.

Sorry, got pulled in way to much.
I think that last offer by the Chicago writer is a decent trade.

Yes. Yes it is.
Same with hiring at large corporations. My sister was the Equal Opportunity" coordinator for a very, very large company for 25 years...there was a premium place on hiring People of color, women and the perfect storm of women of color.
Add it all up...Large companies, Federal, State, County hiring.

I got pulled in last night Ion, I hope I did not offend anybody, that was not my goal.

Wallace: There certainly was impressive fireworks on the mall but I have to say I was surprised by the lack of fireworks in the President’s speech tonight

So much for that speech which isn't surprising, Stephen Miller is one of if not the worst speech writers in modern times and Trump can't read a teleprompter to save his life.

It's kind of hard to say he's going to make America great when he's f*cked it up and Chris Wallace thought it was a dud too, but his useful idiots all think the game show host can do no wrong.

- GilPerreault11

Kinda sounds like you're worried to me!!

It was a speech I describe as masterful!

Silent majority will show up and trounce Biden!!

You said you are not discriminated on because of your skin color. Well discrimination goes different ways. Funny how I have seen and heard of people taking the police exam, exam to be a CO, Fire Department and scoring very high only to be passed up because of minority hiring guidelines. Is that not discrimination against a race.

It’s a lose/lose situation.

Vote for the Democrat who is closer to a republican then the current republican nominee.

Or vote for the terrorist whom is currently destroying everything republicans once stood for and creating his own dictatorship like authority.

At the end of the day the only people who prosper are the 1% at the top. The wealth gap is getting bigger by the second.

Surprised nobody has said anything about Powell’s speech this morning. Opening up the floodgates to create as much inflation as they want.

While every American got a $1200 cheque the Fed’s printing machine has gone brrrr buying all the corporate bonds and treasuries they can buy. Bezos hit $200 Billion, Apple made its second trillion in the span of months (took 38 years to make the first trillion).

What happens to the average joe ? On top of record high unemployment and stifling debt your $USD is getting devalued by the second and your standard costs of living are about to go up roughly 10% per year as the Fed tries to inflate all of the debt away.

- Pegullaville

I wonder if shutting down the economy had anything to do with this?

In general, compared to ppl of color

Of course there’s white ppl who live in trailer parks with meth addicted parents (like 3ER),
and there’s very ppl of color who are born into wealth, or who go to Harvard & become President

But (again) in general,
white ppl don’t deal with nearly the discrimination that ppl of color do
If you don’t think that’s true, then it’s pretty ignorant of you dude

And your analogy at the end of your post is so ridiculously off the mark that I’m not eve going to address it

- jdfitz77

Do you think people of color have contributed to their own demise?

I can't wait for someone to actually express a rational "Next Step" in the process. I may be wrong, but I would say awareness has been raised.
Does anybody have a plan?

I watched oprah special early on after Floyd was murdered, outrage, sadness, and more emotions were expressed for 4 hours over 2 nights. I have yet to hear anything concrete on what specifically needs to change and the plan to get there.

I admit that I don't know the answer. But I'm tired of being force-fed that BLM.

It's getting to a point of being counter productive!

Offend?
No, people refuse to hear both sides of the story. Until we as a country down to individuals are willing and able to have a frank discussion we will be stuck in reverse.
I applaud you bringing up valid points to consider.

This is precisely why I'm tired. The finger pointing, and this board is absolutely a microcosm of this country, needs to (frank)ing stop.

The insults. The disinformation. The racism. The victim blaming. The blatant ignorance. The justifying of destruction of property and life. The condemnation of individuals expressing their Freedom of Speech. The defense of violent criminals. The defense of violent officers. The generalization that x group of individuals are all terrible because a select few are terrible.

I'm just. (frank)ing. Tired.

That's a interesting offer, I was looking at are depth and was wondering if they would do it for Johnson straight up. And unfortunately I got sucked in last night and went at it with a few posters, seems like people have dug in, and like Ion said change can't happen that way.

Biden is the biggest leftist nominee the country has ever had. He wants to change the country completely - demographically, as well as doing away with 1A and 2A.

Absolutely nothing to do with anything you said. My reaction was to the vitriol overflowing on this board, and to the real life extent, of what's happening in this country right this very second.

I think Chicago would be thrilled to swap Ryan Johnson for Dylan Strome 1 for 1.

It's easy to get sucked in here. I got sucked in on Reinhart because the ignorance and baseless opinions get me all toasty and bothered.

You will not change people's political opinions, you might as well try to revive George Washington from his tomb.

If more people cared about other people's happiness, this country would simply be different. But they don't, because we're free to tell others to (frank) themselves. And that's the attitude of the divide between people who want to fight for others and people who want to fight for themselves.

Great post Taco...I feel a large portion of our country is in the same place...hence why the Next Steps need to be identified and acted on...and that is an open and honest discussion at the various Govt levels ...IMO.

Give young tacolette a extra hug and kiss!
