I guess the Avs probably should of traded for a goalie.

MacKinnon doing everything he can, wow, wow, wow, what a game

- BetweenTheDots

Two strange things I didn't expect watching this series. Khudobin is very good, and I like Kenny Albert a lot as a hockey play by play guy.

Yeah, but couldn't have counted on Grubworm going down with an injury. Mac is a fun player to watch. But this is probably my favorite series, so far.

Not sure how this would work, but this was on Twitter (I do not vouch for its accuracy):

Hearing the NHL and PA have had preliminary talks about next season. One proposal is to create 4 bubble cities, and rotating all 31 teams in those venues in 8 game increments.

At present, there’s no indication if all the cities would be in Canada.

But makes the most sense.

- StLBravesFan

How could they include a US based bubble, if they won’t let the Blue Jays play in Canada?

Khudobin has been solid for sure, and Bishop is a really good back up if he's healthy hell he's a good starter when healthy

How's the income tax situation going to work if all of the games are played in Canada? Players from teams in Florida, Texas, Nevada lose their home state discount?

Always amazes me how 1 injury can have such a major effect in the playoffs

Telling words from Stanbow (also "no sh&t Sherlock):

Asked about the Hawks conceding the most scoring chances in the league this season, Bowman said the Hawks’ management “would all agree” they “need to improve in that area,” then dove into exactly what went wrong.

“We have a lot of players who have a lot of offensive skills, and they want to make things happen to help the team win,” Bowman said. “In the process of doing that, it’s a bit of a double-edged sword. You can create some really good opportunities . . . [but] you can put yourself in tough spots.

“The mentality of our group [needs] more awareness [that] what you do in the moment can affect something 20-30 seconds later, and you can put yourself and your team in a bad spot. That seems to happen probably too often with our group.”

Question for Wiz. Who's the top prospect in the 2021 draft? Anyone of Lafrieniere quality? Just thinking ahead.
- boilermaker100

I have five rounds up on the site.

https://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2021/

I have not done many of the profiles yet, but the big kid Owen Power, playing defense for the Chicago is close to the top skill wise and his huge physically dominant and already has two years in with the Steel, he has got to go to college or turn pro...University of. Michigan?
RW Dylan Guenther played his ass to the top this last year. Can you say, speed, size, shot & skill?
I think the Aatu Räty profile is up there, because a Finnish sportswriter asked me to send for their publication to use. Some see him as a wing, I don't but there are two other centers that are mighty good too from this last season, Peterborough's Mason McTavish (pure sniper) , and Rimouski's Zachary Bolduc, who scored like 29 goals in 57 games and has the hands quick feet and a killer instinct. Both have good size but Bolduc needs girth
This big Swedish defenseman is no slouch either, Simon Edvinsson, who is 6' 4" lateral agility and big wheels huge ice water attacking skills, like a veteran defender.
I'll try and write something tomorrow on each or did I just do that?
Mike Sillinger's son Cole is then top centre out if the dub, and he is a hard nosed kid who gives that type game all night every night in junior.
The best Centre from the United States National development team is Matthew Beniers, probably the fasted kid in the class and has plenty of skill too. Throw in a centreman from the lesser British Columbia League that Cole Makar played in in Kent Johnson, and two Euro wingers in big Czech Martin Rysary and smaller Swede, Fabian Lysell, and let's get another smaller Finn wing some prop in Samu Tuomaala, who score from all over and it is a decent top end.
Don't chisel it in stone yet, but I like those guys.
When and if any of you want to go to the Athletic and ask Wheeler and expert , and "...a scouts said.." Corey Pronman when they are going to start copying the names off my five round start up, because I haven't seen them say a peep yet, because they haven't found place to copy it yet, lol!

Dallas doesn’t have anyone as good as Mackinnon but other than that their roster is just as deep and talented top to bottom as the Avs.

I was looking for more analysis of Morrison and they had a write up. Followed the rabbit hole to the front page...

Was it mine because yesterday I went to my twitter account which I rarely do, and there was something about how The Real Wiz's profile was there. I sent it but he didn't pay me the $1500 I get from TYLER each month.

Saad has been back 3 years. Hawks didn't make the playoffs the first two years and only made it in this year due to the pandemic related play in scenario. What makes you think his presence will guarantee a playoff spot next year? Maybe Stan had some leash here and would be able to make some major changes.
- boilermaker100

Are you really going there, Saad is part of the problem we are not making the playoffs? Oey Vey.

Letting go I meant
- GPHawksfan

Disregarding he totally sucks on shootouts and we seem to get into a lot of them during the regular season, possibly the difference between missing and making the playoffs, I wasn't overly impressed with Lehner when the games got important for Chicago and he was not lights out for Vegas against us. I think we can better use his cap money elsewhere.

His presence doesn’t guarantee a playoff spot, but most here are lamenting that we don’t have many on the team who have size, speed and can cycle the puck (and rightfully so). Get rid of him and you have one (maybe two) guys. That does not make for a good cycle game.

Nice!

I know you you are not a fan, but I would think that ADB would be a great cycler. He is a foot shorter than everyone so he should be able to get under sticks. He is also built like a fire hydrant. Maybe he can get some more aggression to his game.

Somebody earlier in the year said he went to an 8 foot stick (red font) all I know is he seemed to have a lot less control this year?

It sounds like Stan realizes the Hawks need a defensively sound forward. Maybe like Michael Frolik, perhaps.
