Mitchell should be one, and Carlsson seemed to move quite well. I don't get why he isn't mentioned more. He was pretty solid when he played.
- Chunk

I am okay if Mitchell spends a season in Rockford. Its the beauty of a 3 year ELC for Mitchell. Let him take his time.

I wanted Carlsson playing in the PO. I don't even count the game he did play. JC did him no favors. It was his first real game in months and then the kid got nothing but inconsistent shifts. 5 year pros would have struggled in those conditions.

I want 4-6 new faces next season.

I think he Chiefs said they expected 25% capacity as well. We have no idea how it will all work, but at least that is what they expect.

22%. Why that number I have no idea.

What is the deal with Rockford and the AHL for the upcoming season?

Thought most of their revenue comes from ticket sales.....

No tickets no revenue no season?????

- mike7076

The AHL is slated to start on December 4 at the earliest. Can't really answer your question about the financials of how this would work.

The NBC announcers kept talking that Vancouver is like the 09 Blackhawks. If that is the case, I feel better about the Hawks, because I think Vancouver looked worse in game 1 than anyy of the 5 Hawk games against Vegas
- LAHawk

Don't get to offended by all of Canada wanting to see this earlier than expected growth spurt for the Vancouver franchise.

I dont think they meant it in any way but it is coming maybe more premature than was expected as the hawks Cup was too.
Everyone thought the Blackhawks needed more time for their two young stars Toews and Kane to develop and they overlooked the fact the entire Hawk rostered was willed with guys that grew up before our eyes, and not theirs...

I'd like to see a trade down in the 1st round and then select Marat Khusnutdinov. Wiz has him going 30th so maybe the Hawks can package #17 and Maatta for NJ's #20 and Jesper Boqvist.

And yes, I know, Khusnutdinov is only 5'9" but he plays bigger than that. Very good quickness and speed and skill, win draws, plays very well defensively and he has a non-stop motor and sticks his nose in it all over the ice. I just watched all of his shifts in a game and he is now on my wish list.

- EbonyRaptor

Just take him at 17. You want another pick in the 1st round? Saad to the Habs for 16 and maybe Poehling.

It would allow for exactly 6ft distancing that no one will adhere to.

The 3 from Boston is the 4th line. Daddy plays top 6.
- LAHawk

And about to be 31. Prolly looking for a long term deal. Definitely not what the Hawks need at this point. Locking up a 30+ forward long term. Those contracts rarely, if ever, work out well.

Just throwing this out there, do we really have to sign Corey. We are still a couple of years away why not spend the money on RFAs and go from there. It's obvious this team can compete against softer teams like the Oil but not mature enough for the big time teams like Vegas and Boston.

I believe this team needs to put some more miles on it, the forwards spacing is horrible on offense and defense. The rub is it takes the defense longer to develop and we have so many young ones to develop is there a way to fast forward a defensemans development?

- BetweenTheDots

I think weak goal tending is detrimental to building a team. See Edmonton, Toronto, etc...., and others that were mired in mediocrity for a few years. You want very good goal tending. Without that you have trouble assessing the rest of your team. If you have good goal tending you have a chance to win on any particular night. It is a morale booster. If Crow wants too much I would kick the tires on Khubodin.

This offseason is Stan Bowman's wet dream. He gets to bring back a bunch of "his" players and he doesn't even have to trade away any future stars and prospects to do it like in year's past.

The best way to clear cap space for the coming season would be to get rid of Shaw(4 million) - Zach Smith (3 million) DeHann (4 million). That's 11 million more right there. Shaw and DeHann are both too injury prone and Smith is overpaid because of one year he scored more than usual. If you can trade Matta, there is another 4 million. There is always a possibility that the expansion draft would possibly take Maata or even DeHann.

They probably had an app that calculated the possible available seats with proper distancing.

No matter - if they find any infections - in the stands or on the field - they’ll shut it down.

In order to open up anything - there’s going to have to be a consensus on how many infections we are willing to accept - because unless everything opens up in a sterile bubble, there will be infections.

You can’t keep opening things up and shutting them down - which seems to be what’s happening now - colleges, local schools, businesses, restaurants, sports - one bad test ends the experiment.

How do you "get Rid" of them? You have one more full season before the expansion draft,

I might just bury Smith the Minors. the Mil of dead cap space in year 2 hurts,

I get what your saying but everyone knows this about these players and with a cap like it is. You will either be trading for like parts and contracts.and if you say buy them out
Dehaan 1.6 dead cap for 4 years
Maatta 681,000. 4years
Shaw 775,000 4 years
Smith. 1084000. 2 years

Even though I stated earlier that Stan will not make major changes, I also would like to see 4 to 6 new players.

So who goes to make room. Not 2, 7, 19, 88 due to their NMCs. No market for Shaw and probably deHaan due to their injury situations. Dach, Cat, Boqvist, Kubalik probably all keepers. Carpenter and Kampf are cheap and capable 4th liners.

So Smith, Saad, Nylander, Maatta. 4K, Strome, Cags among the likely players to be shipped out?

Buying out smith at least gets you 2 m off this year at a cost of 1 next.

I’m doubtful that it will get started - or last.

Who, or what, is in the way of them starting? It appears they have clearance to do so.

I would also include josh Anderson and jordan greenway. I think hawks should trade strome. I like him but with dach emergence and most likely will be the 2nd line center the trade strome for a 3rd line center and pick or prospect.
What a trade look like is anyone's guest.

Read my response above to Elbows 22% post.

It doesn’t exactly answer your question, but those are my thoughts, such as they are.

Matta to dallas for Richarderson or Winnipeg for copp or lowery. Not straight up but base of a trade.

Josh Anderson has a very large caution sticker. He's coming off of a Shoulder injury that has kept him out for a while. I didn't mind de Haan's originally because of his style of play. I do now that he was out for half the year.

What did baseball do when half of the Marlins tested positive? I don't follow baseball much anymore, but I heard about that and figured they would shut it down. That doesn't seem to have happened.
