What the Leafs did was sign Kapanen and Andrea Johnson to $3.2M and $3.4M deals as 2nd and 3rd line wingers because they figured the cap was going to keep going up. And then it didn't and they finalily realized they have to give their blueline a gigantic enema in order to compete with Boston, Tampa etc. So bye-bye Kasperi.

Hope you are right.

The Leafs tried to play Kapanen on his off wing and he couldn't do it. But he is a pretty good player with lots of speed and can kill penalties. But the Hawks didn't need another small winger, they need a road grader with some skill and nasty. Unfortunately guys like Alex Tuch and Jake Debrusk don't grow on trees.

Pettersson is so fun to watch. He's going to be great for a long time. I figured Van would wake up for game 2 & elevate their play. I hope they pull the upset. I like a good underdog.

Chieffy, I don't see how they could beat them any worse. Game 1 was very embarassing.
