Couturier should consider opting out. He's obviously not all in. His play in this playoffs has been nothing short of embarrassing.

They would call that "pulling a Rask"

The second period was October level hockey?

i posted something to this effect early in Habs series. i was concerned how we played since restart, even the victories bc our top players werent in sync. it reminded me of early season play. and then i remembered this group tends to start slow. and, the shut down was like an offseason. so despite our early bubble success, i did not like how it transpired.
i would be much happier if our top 6 or 7 players were all involved in scoring on 5v5 as well as the power play, which is horrid. i was so concerned that the minute we closed out montreal i wagered $100 straight up on the isles with my best flyers buddy. not to root against our team, but to make a point on analyzing what i saw. i am praying i will be wrong and have to sacrifice the benjamin.
and if we are so unfortunate that i win the bet, i will buy a $100 bottle of tequila to drown my sorrow.

Love the majority of our players but we need guys who will outmuscle whoever they are up again. Weber did it by himself. Now the Islanders fourth line is doing it.

I actually like Thompson so I won’t bash him but Derek Grant. What a bland, offers nothing player. He was on a roll when we traded for him. He was having a nice season. Season stops, four or five months goes by and he’s back to being exactly what he was.

I agree on Grant. I was pleasantly surprised by him before the stoppage. Hasn’t shown much since then.

When Giroux, Konecny, and Couturier have combined for zero goals in 11 playoff games, Grant really is the least of their problems.

His take on Grant is accurate IMO, but you are right about those guys too. Giroux has been a disappointment in the playoffs for a long time now. When was “the shift part 2”? Need some of that right now.

I’m actually more confident going into this series then I was Montreal. They made me worried. Plus the Flyers has just garnered the #1 seed, so the pressure was immense. Also, Montreal was playing “playoff hockey” while the Flyers were coming out of the Round Robin. Factor in Price was scorching and so many of our guys had never played in a playoff series before, it felt like a bad mix.

The Isles are good don’t get me wrong, but I feel like the Flyers are going to play their game more and overwhelm them. We will see after the first 10 minutes of the game and I’ll be totally wrong lol.

You were totally wrong.
