Hayes is having a tough night with puck control.

Isles doing a good job tying up the flyers sticks in the slot and around the net.

They have had some good chances but hit Varl.

There are no clean passing plays. Isles disrupting everything. It’s all sharp angle and point shots for the most part

They have to do exactly what they have been doing. Love Myers pinching and taking it behind the Isles net. Isles D making lots of good plays near the net, but no team can withstand that kind of pressure.

Sanheim with a quiet game.

Anyone thinking no reason frost can’t be on 4th line now as long as we’re gonna roll Thompson Grant 18 minutes a night. This is some extremely boring hockey. And NOT cup winning hockey.

Ghost repeatedy make bad plays on the last shift when they were hemmed in. Rim around picked off, whiff, manhandled.

Not withstanding his ability, that is why playing him is so risky.

Gave away momentum to the 4th line.

whoa whoa whoa

Ghost makes the passes to push the play and break out

Hagg on the ice means the flyers are getting caved in in the defensive zone

Get your consensus fallacies right

Thats the way you win hockey games

As much as I wanted the 1st period to end, I equally didn't want the 2nd to end. Right on the doorstep.

Hopefully the Flyers come out in the 3rd with the same aggression.

Solid period but the isles are playing the bend but don’t break. They’ll do the same in the 3rd. Need to dig deeper and get one.

What about the team D in back to back shutouts without Ghost, Niskanen gets a misconduct and he was the in the line up because they had to. Hagg Braun is a better pairing, they are used to eachother and the play on ice reflects it. I love ghost. His 65 point season was as excited as I’ve been about a player since watching Giroux turn into what we all thought he could.
- Hughjass

Gostisbehere just played a strong period with Braun. The narrative that Haag and Braun are better is simply not true. The Flyers are a better team with Gostisbehere in the lineup and playing well. Nothing against Haag.

Only getting worse as the game goes on. Is what it is, but it hurt them on some chances.

Isles too.

I have no issues with ghosts play tonight. The issue is we need our finishers to finish. In the 3rd this better happen.

There were numerous players on the ice who made mistakes in that shift including Provorov. Gostisbehere also made repeated good plays in breaking up plays in the neutral zone and breaking forwards out in transition. Strong period overall for Gostisbehere.

We are not very creative offensively.

The forwards are passing up shots when we are playing with possession and the defensemen are forcing shots.

Now this isn’t to say we can’t score. That was a better period in terms of offensive zone time but the Islanders are doing a good job at keeping us boxed out and to the outside.

Draw a penalty please

- SuperSchennBros

Getting too cute is what will doom them against a team like the Isles. Just keep putting everything on net, and start getting more bodies in front. Varlamov is good, but he's no Carey Price. Eventually one of these pucks is gonna get past him. And there's no Shea Weber to fear in front of the net, either.

The Hayes breakaway the ice played no factor. In a series like this where chances are going to be limited, you have to bury those.

They try and keep you to the outside. It was a like a Christmas miracle happened in the between the two periods. All of a sudden the Flyers were up on their skates, quicker on pucks, winning battles and getting the puck to the net. It's unbelievable!

That's the one adjustment still needed. More traffic to the net. Isles are funneling the play to the point. Get it on net and get traffic.

It would be nice. Nice injection of speed and skill. Plus, seems to work well with G.

It’s what we (among many others) had been saying. Move your feet. Get pucks deep. Pound their defense. Cycle. Now work on the whole pucks to the net and crash thing.
