I just read somebody say that the 15th overall pick in this draft is like having a top 10 draft pick in most draft years

In 2 yrs Pitt is going to suck again, the fans will show how fair weather they are, attendance will plummet, they will threaten to move, rinse repeat.
- tbreinold

Absolutely, they are going to be one of the worst teams in the league in a couple of years. God, will I cherish that time!

Well thats what I'm thinking if I'm Toronto. I could get a player better than Kapanen in the 1st round.

I just wonder what they are doing? Accelerating their downfall and getting rid of picks?

Yeah, it's interesting the GM says they need a new attitude and culture, and they trade even more draft picks. I love it. Gonna be a long way down very soon.

I would be stocking up on picks right now if I was them, but I guess the elephant in the room is, Crosby. Really can't go through a rebuild with him and have him being ok with sucking I'm assuming. Kind of like as long as Hank was in his prime, the Rangers would go for it

Is there a team that can take on Malkins cap. He would be the guy I would trade to try to recoup some picks and prospects

Eklund just said that the Sharks and Penguins are talking Malkin

but Sharks are another team with no picks or prospects, although they do have Tampa's first

Thats EK

I mean he is still over a point per game player. If he could stay healthy his contract would actually be on the low side for a 90-100 point player. Assuming he was healthy. Plus its only 2 more years

It'll never happen and I wouldn't want to trade away the assets needed to get him, but I would take two years of Malkin as our 2C.

Definitely, although he does seem to be a bit injury prone.

How about the standard? Buch, ADA, Strome and a second?

Kind of went into my thinking. It would artificially give Chytil a chance to play some games as the 2C, which wouldn't be a bad thing for him or the org.
