Meh - positive spin or not, he shouldn't be wearing the C next year.

IMO taking the C away would put a little fire in gio ...I say do it

Don't forget Tkachuk, Lindholm, and Hanifin. Keeping them around just extends the mediocrity. If Gaudreau is traded, there's no reason to keep Tkachuk since he'll be gone in two years anyway.

There's no way to get better in the next two years by trading Gaudreau so they may as well bring in a new GM to sell everything and start again.

You must be assuming we give JG and or Mony away for nothing with that statement ? Whats to say we cant make a few big moves this off season and get assets back that improve the balance of our lineup? Dube, Mang, Rasmas, Bennett (at Center) have all just taken huge steps in their development. At their age why cant they keep getting better and become leaders on this team along with Chucky and Lindholm?
There are only 8 teams that made it past the first round which leaves 21 other teams in the same boat as us. In other words most teams in the league will be looking to make changes this off season so find a fit!

[quote=Redmile247] Yes they did and I'm all for Chucky taking over the C but it can be spun in a positive way is all i'm saying.

Players like Johnny and Monahan don’t seem built for playoffs ...they are fine against the jets or Canucks but when they face real playoff teams they disappear

The day after a tough loss is not the time to make decisions.
I think it was a very tough situation for Riitich not having played in 6 months, the coach panicked and it backfired.

Not only do flames find a way to lose, they find a way to embarrass themselves. Strip gio of the c. Trade him, Johnny, monny... basically everyone except Rasmus, mang, dube, Bennett and Tkachuk

Flames are stuck in no-man's land, don't have any elite playoff performers to be a true contender, but are talented enough to look good during the regular season. Don't have the 2 or 3 players that can carry the team in the playoffs.

I don't know if ownership/management has the balls, but they either need to blow it up and rebuild or make a couple of blockbuster trades to shake up the core.

So they are going to shake up Tkachuk? Don’t you need at least three or four players minimum to form a core?
